About the job

As Europe Baby Food QFS Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all First Diet products manufactured by our external partners consistently meet Danone’s highest standards of Quality, Food Safety, Compliance, and Consumer Trust. This is a highly visible international role combining technical expertise, risk management, auditing, and cross-functional collaboration in a complex and dynamic environment. 

 

Key Responsabilities: 

  • Manage Comanufacturers in the region including performance monitoring, risk mitigation and performance improvement.
  • Follow-up on audits ensuring action plan completion.
  • Execute qualification of new comanufacturing sites and processes according to Danone Standards and Audit Program Requirements.
  • Execute Audits per Danone Standards and Audit Program requirements.
  • Install appropriate controls, sample plans, hold/release system modifications, code rotation, batching and processing controls, and other production systems that will drive a reduction in variability and improvement in product consistency across all facilities.
  • Mitigate risk through application of scientific principles, technical experience and employment of Quality and Food Safety Standards.
  • Perform activities associated with the innovation process such as risk assessments, specification reviews and approvals, documentation reviews, Food Safety validations and approvals, design assessments, trial support, etc. 
  • Collaborate with internal functions including global and local Cycles & Procurement, Research & Innovation, Environmental Health and Safety, Sustainability, Regulatory, Food Safety, Project Management, Operations and Engineering to deliver products to the market that meet Danone’s standards
  • Troubleshoot problems associated with production in facilities; ensure root cause / corrective actions are appropriate and are fully implemented
  • Manage the non-conformity assessment process in case of out of specification productions to ensure swift product release decision.
  • Utilizing Six Sigma, Lean, and/or other continuous improvement concepts to improve quality, efficiency, and waste. 
  •  Staying current with all key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines and relevant Danone standards. 

About you

Key Expectations from the role owner:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Food Science/Technology or similar major.
  • 7+ years of combined experience with food, ingredients quality and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Certified in FSSC 22000 auditing scheme.
  • Experience with auditing suppliers and a demonstrated ability to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement. 
  • Travel 50% travel time to comanufacturing sites in Europe or other Danone locations (outside of Barcelona) 
  • Driving licence. 

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Quality & Food Safety systems, including Food Safety principles, hygienic design, food manufacturing processes, and applicable regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Highly autonomous, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with strong documentation practices and the ability to quickly learn new systems, tools, and processes.
