Danone Research & Innovation (R&I) is recognized as credible, trusted and impactful – underpinned by its deep expertise in health and science. As part of the Excellence team, the R&I Communications team is responsible for developing the communication strategy and increasing the science visibility around Danone's dairy and plant-based products, waters and specialized nutrition, positioning these as key value drivers for the organization.

Your main responsibilities include:

1. Creative content creation & distribution:

Bring the scientific and health communications strategy to life by:

• Enhancing and innovating existing communication projects to be disseminated to our internal and external audiences throughout the year.

• Creating and running content campaigns to engage our internal and external audiences throughout the year.
• Amplify the reach our content by engaging with internal audiences and supporting the launch of our ambassador programme.

2. Administrative Tasks

• Ensure the accuracy and timely updating of our monthly financial report, as well as keeping track of expenses with our current vendors.
• Keep our content communications schedule updated.
• Monitor our owned digital channels to ensure they are working smoothly, as well as suggesting ways to continuously improve.

3. Stakeholder Management:

• Coordinate with external agencies to request data pulls and ensure reports are complete.

4. Reporting:

• Prepare comprehensive reports to track the progress, measure impact, and inform strategic R&I Comms decisions.
• Prepare monthly updates on scientific activities, sharing them via Workplace and on office screens to keep colleagues informed and engaged.

As a Science Communication & Coordination intern, a creative mindset and ability to propose new ideas will be second nature to you. You have attention to detail in administrative and reporting tasks and have a keen interest in science and its communication to diverse audiences. On top of that? You’re an excellent communicator and have strong organizational skills. who’s always looking for opportunities to learn and develop.

There are also some compulsory requirements:

• Enrolled as a Bachelor’s/Master’s student in Science Communication, Communication, Life Sciences, or a related field during the whole internship period (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to be enrolled at a Dutch university);
• Ideally available to start in February / March for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days per week;

• You are fluent in English - spoken and written; French / Portuguese is considered as a plus;
• You are able to work from Utrecht, at least 2 times per week;
• Please note that you are required to relocate to the Netherlands (if abroad) for this internship and get a BSN.

As a Science Communication & Coordination intern, you will learn about stakeholder engagement, gain hands-on experience in science communication, and have the opportunity to develop and lead your own communication projects. We offer a gross monthly internship allowance 650 euros per month and a home working allowance/contribution towards travel. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
