$40,923.00 - $58,462.00 (Depending on Experience)

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provides support to production and flow management of the facility through raw materials verification, production schedule changes, losses, and inventory information.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Verifies and maintains proper inventory accuracy to meet production and customer service levels.
  • Performs accurate physical counts of raw material for purposes of inventory control. 
  • Persuades internal customers, suppliers, managers, and operators to make fundamental changes to their manufacturing and/or business processes so that results are achieved.
  • Confirms production orders completed/closed and final verification and explanation of losses for accounting purpose.
  • Compare inventory quantities and research discrepancies between 3rd party Warehouse Management System (WMS) and internal inventory management system.
  • Reconciles finished goods produced versus product shipped and ingredients received.
  • Manages inventory movements and disposal of all obsolete materials, including but not limited to finished goods and packaging materials.
  • Reviews balance of materials (BOMs) for accuracy to ensure proper material use and loss calculation.
  • Participates in weekly and bi-weekly meetings; proposes and creates actions for improvement against weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives.
  • Supports production and flow management of the facility through raw materials verification, production schedule changes, losses, and inventory information.
  •  Trains others at all levels of the organization to ensure competence and adequate processes are followed.
  • Cross-trains in peer WMS role/function to enable coverage for the department without any degradation to normal work processes.
  • Manages transfer of materials and packaging needed for production, through communicating timely and effectively internally and externally as needed.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Promotes a positive team atmosphere and champions involvement of all employees.
  • Complies with all food safety and quality standards and safety regulations to help ensure safe and quality products are produced, and a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Any other duties as assigned or requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Office environment; extended sitting and computer use.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when in the plant.
  • Reading.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; taste and/or smell, talk and hear.
  • Ability to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head.
  • The employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10lbs up to 50lbs and occasional team lifting above 50lbs. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results.
  • Occasionally may need to climb stairs, step ladders, stool.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and may be exposed to loud noises in the plant.  The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration

About you

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing (dairy, chemistry, food, pharmacy) environment working in a warehouse environment or inventory function.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external relationships, work as a proactive team member, and use effective and various communication styles, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, prioritizing to meet deadlines, and implementation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, at an intermediate level.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced 24x5 production environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to work overtime and/or work schedule to include nights (2200-0630 or weekends.
