The Logistics Leader is the main point of contact for business system support needs and understanding of business and system processes. This role will lead a team to support the business warehouse management system.  Responsible for performing the routine loss analysis and building capability within the organization to eliminate that loss.  Conducts analysis and implements improvements for all work processes in order to eliminate Non-Value Added Activity.  Must be a change catalyst with strong communication and time management skills. Most importantly, be a team player!

 

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Logistics Leader based in Mt. Crawford, Virginia!  

 

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

 

  • Ensure master data process is fit for business purpose and adhered to by the business
  • Assume content ownership and accuracy of all end user documentation (ie. BPRGs, SOPs and other TBD delivered documentation)
  • Ensure comprehensive support process and contacts are fully understood and exercised by the end user community
  • Ensure ownership and validation of business requirements for all releases of Korber functionality
  • Determine and implement relevant validation
  • Prepare content for facilitate, and execute communications to departments’ end user community
  • Ensure related contingency plans are developed and tested for go-live
  • Ensure the safety of our people and our products always
  • Attend and support all line meetings as part of the daily direction setting process
  • Meet with each shift daily to review and prioritize unresolved issues
  • Support off shift critical work and emergency repairs where required
  • Provide trended data, ad hoc reports as requested by plant teams
  • Conducts recurring Loss Analysis and partners with Line Lead to develop short term improvement plans
  • Uses Plan-Do-Check-Act thought process to analyze line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities through the Daily Direction Setting cycle
  • Leads continuous improvement problem solving approach and trigger system to start the problem-solving cycle
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on safety, quality, and major losses / chronic losses as necessary
  • Plans and coordinates training to others who will support the Process Improvement initiatives
  • Design, drive and perform analysis of recurring transactional and effort-based work processes. Drive and track these projects to successful completion.
  • Develops control strategies and troubleshooting guides to enable operators to respond to sporadic losses
  • Ensures data is integrated into Daily Direction Setting process
  • Conducts regular and periodic audits of daily management systems
  • Provides technical direction/guidance to personnel as required.
  • Networks and shares best practice with other locations internal and possibly external to the plant
  • Lead the team and manage any employee relation matters, with guidance sought from HR
  • Will be a member and valued contributor to one of Danone Operational Excellence Pillars
  • Other duties as assigned

As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network;Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

 

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum four-year degree or related operations/process fields preferred
  • Previous SAP experience highly desired. In lieu of experience, recent SAP/Korber training required
  • High School diploma/GED

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·       Functional knowledge of the integration points between Korber modules

·       Working knowledge of the CPG industry

·       Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

·       High degree of initiative and ownership, as well as a proven history of delivering results while working with several different departments in a fast-paced environment

·       Ability to multi-task and manage workload in a dynamic environment

·       Ability to comfortably interact with all levels of business

·       Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.

·       Food and beverage manufacturing background a plus

  • Ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 Manufacturing Operation, may include working overtime, graveyard shift and/or weekends as needed.
