About the job

Danone Specialized Nutrition is launching a major greenfield investment to build our next‑generation liquid nutrition facility. As the Logics Manager you will lead and drive the full end to end process and logistics and warehousing scope of the new plant. You will lead the process workstream through design, installation, integration, performance testing and operational readiness, ensuring all logistics and warehousing requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with project timelines, expectations and Danone standards.

 

  • The Logistics Manager is responsible for the warehouse management and storage of finished products and raw materials in a safe, efficient way and in line with operational procedures and site standards.  The Logistics Manager supervises the daily operations of the warehouse environment, managing the warehouse FLT operators and facilitating communication between production, planning, deployment teams and 3rd Party Logistics Providers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

 

  1. Logistics Planning (Strategy & Architecture)
  • Logistics planning for greenfield project
  • Logistics design for Liquid products
  • Warehouse design (20k pallets)
  • Design of inbound & outbound logistics flow to meet project needs and customer demands
  • Support the tender preparation and supplier selection for warehousing, shunting and FLTs.
  1. Project Execution
  • Lead Logistics and Warehouse commissioning
  • Determine Logistics flows to size the warehouse and racking required for raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
  • Conduct interview and selection process for hiring warehouse staff.
  • Develop the logistics plan to move from project phase to operational start up 
  1. Inbound and Outbound Logistics Management
  • Planning for raw material and packaging call-offs
  • Manage stock replenishment in line with call off plan
  • Oversee operations for inbound and outbound deliveries in a safe and efficient manner
  • Maintain inventory control accuracy at all times
  • Schedule the daily and weekly workplan for Warehouse FLT operators in line with the agreed plan
  • Ensure Stock control procedures and processes are adhered to
  • Promote and maintain a safety and quality culture, managing with integrity, openness and trust
  • Resolving complaints and issues regarding the supply chain
  • Maintaining customer logs and safety records
  • Optimise logistics and transport flows, maximizing operational and commercial efficiency
  • Lead, supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce
  • Achieve cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Maintain metrics /KPI’s and analyze data to assess performance and implement continuous improvement
  1. Collaboration
  • Work closely with cross functional internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Partner effectively with suppliers and 3rd parties 
  1. Reporting & Decision Support
  • Provide structured reporting and updates to the Project Director on progress, risks, commissioning readiness, and mitigation plans.
  • Provide technical Logistics and Warehousing insights to support strategic and operational decision‑making throughout project phases.

 

Education & Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s / Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management preferably within manufacturing

  • 5 +years’ experience in Logistics, Transport or Warehouse Management
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain ERP Systems, SAP knowledge an advantage
  • Experience in partnering with 3rd party logistics providers, contractors and transport carriers
  • Food industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience of greenfield / brownfield site project is an advantage
