About the job

The Product Developer will be responsible for developing, implementing, launching and post-launch of the projects under his/her responsibility (renovation, innovation and / or cost / quality of projects), ensuring excellence in execution. This position involves the implementation of pilot tests, quantitative analysis and monitoring as well as the coordination of industrial production tests in order to manage and support project launches. The chosen candidate must be able to represent the interest of R&I in the various projects of the company.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Define the development plan for new products according to the objectives, costs and deadlines set in the project brief;
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing to generate innovation within its category;
  • Manage projects according to specific needs and as per the methodology defined by Danone;
  • Act as the R&I representative within each project team and ensure project follow-up using R&I tools;
  • Develop formulas and processes taking into account the requirements of other functions, such as Regulatory Affairs, Quality, production, etc.;
  • Design and follow pilot tests, organize tasting sessions with Marketing and draw conclusions and recommendations for the next steps;
  • Industrialize new products with collaboration of engineering and production departments.

 

The annual base salary range for this position is $72,000 to $100,000 CAD. The final salary offered will be determined by factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity and external market conditions.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field. Master, an asset.
  • Three to ten years of experience in food product development.
  • Good skills in project management and IT tools.
  • Ability to meet tight timeline and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in plant-based and dairy products, an asset.
  • Experience of manufacturing scale up (bench scale to pilot scale and full manufacturing).
  • Experience in personnel management, an asset.
  • Flexibility to travel in US-Canada (10-20%).
  • Bilingualism required French and English (written and spoken).
