As a QA in Process Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and food safety of our Balclutha plant, maintaining compliance with Danone’s global standards and local regulations. You will be a key driver of our quality culture, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion quality and food safety standards in the plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory, corporate, and ISO-22000 standards.
  • Lead and support the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) on the shop floor.
  • Participate in non-conformance management, line verification, environmental hygiene, pest control, and internal audits (GMP/GHP).
  • Actively contribute to internal and external audits, daily line verifications, and the achievement of a zero-harm workplace through the WISE Health & Safety programme.
  • Liaise with production, lab, engineering, and warehouse teams to ensure quality outcomes and the implementation of new standards.
  • Oversee food safety index requirements, HACCP compliance, and pathogen management.
  • Support factory trials, validations, and new product introductions.
  • Develop staff capability and deliver training in milk testing and in-process quality control.
  • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the factory.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in QA or manufacturing, with a strong understanding of HACCP, risk assessment, and QFS improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, reliability, integrity, and a strong team spirit.
  • Technical expertise in food handling, pathogen management, GHP & GMP, NZFSA & FSANZ compliance, auditing, and ISO standards.
