About the job

To lead and drive a production team to deliver in all aspects of the Business Unit in line with our S, Q, C, D, M, E targets. Be part of a cross functional team that will drive a BU strategy and deliver through a defined and aligned roadmap.

Deliver results by engaging and motivating a core team and utilising the cross functional expertise within the Business Unit and the rest of the sites support functions.

 

Become an integral part of a business unit structure, whilst being able to imprint upon the function your own personal stamp of core beliefs, experience, and expertise in operations.

 

Success will be measured through the delivery of key KPIs through DaMaWay and PDS processes and the supporting of key programs and projects to enable the transformation into a high performing team.

 

Key accountabilities, deliverables & KPIs, impact on business results

 

Safety

  • Delivery of the target of ‘0’ accidents through ownership of audits, tags, near missed, incident reporting
  • Reporting of incidents and accidents with Zaptic system
  • Ownership of root cause analysis for safety issues
  • Ownership of SIM 1 & 2 safety KPI’s and actions

 

Quality

  • Drive GMP standards in own area through audits and action close out
  • Reporting and management of non-compliance issues through CAR process
  • Completion of batch release documentation process
  • Review and completion of o-PRP documentation
  • Raising and management of TOP’s for SOP deviations
  • OPL creation and training
  • Management and execution of rework process

 

Cost

  • Work closely with the Shift Leader and team to manage resource and agency staff
  • Drive and manage waste streams to achieve improvement targets
  • Drive powder losses reduction through SIM 1 & 2

Delivery

  • Delivery of SIM 1 & 2 to monitor and drive area performance including escalation of performance issues through communication channels
  • Management of break cover on shift
  • Support and cover breaks, holidays and absences
  • Perform root cause analysis for major downtimes including 5Y completion
  • Closely working with scheduling and planning to create and deliver the most efficient production plan
  • Delivery of planned and autonomous maintenance through the framework in place

 

Motivation

  • Drive team engagement and moral through leading by example
  • Drive closure of training compliance / competency gaps through training matrix 
  • Management of teams, and own, learning hours through the QM system

 

Environment

  • Ownership and control of area waste and management of improvements
  • Support the area energy usage and improvement plan
  • Area standards management through the WoOA, GEMBA and DaMaWay mind set and team proximity

 

Key Enablers

  • Delivery, and evolution of the SIM (single interval management) structure within the business unit area through coaching the team
  • Implementation of the digital roadmap within the teams/areas, utilising the many platforms available such as Power Bi, eSIM, Zaptic, etc
  • Use of the Business Unit Leadership Team to support in areas of expertise, such as Hygiene, Performance and Engineering

 

Key Challenges

  • Support solutions relating to the capacity constraints within the Business Units to improve overall factory delivery
  • Support productivity solutions within the BU to drive the cost strategy evolution against the backdrop of increased competition in the market
  • Manage resources within the complex environment of everchanging process, compliance requirements and volume demand

 

Stakeholders

  • Shift Leaders & Business Unit teams – Team management, cross functionally with other functions
  • HR – Agency organisation, people topics, T&A, development
  • Performance & Digital Team – development of digital tools & support, implementation in areas
  • H&S – WISE delivery, Zaptic reporting
  • Supply chain – Warehouse as a customer and supplier, scheduling and planning for weekly plan and horizon planning, capacity for volume evolution and forecasting
  • Quality – Food safety, plant quality, hygiene, customer complaints, governance
  • Engineering – Facilities site management, project support, maintenance strategy

About you

Candidate profile (leadership & functional competencies)

  • Strong leadership mindset with coaching beliefs
  • Digital platform and system outlook
  • Highly organised with ability to meet regular, tight deadlines
  • Disciplined approach to completing routine daily and weekly activities
  • Able to effectively influence stakeholders
  • Comfortable working autonomously or within a team to deliver objectives
  • Basic SAP overview
  • Understanding of an MES style system and process
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint knowledge
  • Key problem-solving mindset with experience of RCA tools and techniques

 

Critical experience required

  • Experience within the food and/or pharmaceutical industry working within production areas and equipment
  • Experience of leading teams within a complex and agile production environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques (such as PDS, RCA, 5S, AM, PM)
