I support safe discharges and help patients at home, often during incredibly difficult times.
I also work to cut plastic waste, moving from single-use items to reusables. One patient went from 120 containers a month to just four bottles. It’s better for the planet, for the NHS, and for patients.
This role lets me care deeply while also driving real, positive change.
There are no silly questions here; there’s always someone who will help.
There’s no strict hierarchy; we go straight to senior leaders if we need to. Everyone’s open, approachable, and willing to help.
The team’s always got your back. It’s a culture that genuinely cares.
We get two volunteering days a year, which helps us connect with the community, my team’s helped at food banks and local farms.
I’ve also stepped into bigger projects, like supporting new nurses and helping train hospital staff on the Isle of Wight. It’s great to be trusted to share knowledge, support patients, and represent the team beyond my usual patch.
Your role isn’t a box; it’s a starting point for new opportunities.
I feel listened to. When I’ve asked for training to better do my job, it’s been provided, no fuss.
I manage my own caseload, giving patients the time they really need. And growth isn’t fixed, you can move sideways into other roles.
Your role isn’t a box; it’s a starting point for new opportunities.
