We are looking for a Quality Food & Safety Sr. Manager, a strategic and inspiring leader who will ensure that every product leaving our Irapuato plant meets the highest standards, protecting our consumers and strengthening trust in our brands.
About the Role
As the QFS Sr. Manager, you will be the highest Quality authority on-site and a key member of the Plant Leadership Team. Your mission is to ensure full compliance with regulatory, customer, and Danone quality & food safety requirements while driving a strong culture of quality across the plant.
You will lead four core Quality pillars: Plant Assurance: Normativity, compliance & audits; Plant Laboratory: Physical–chemical and microbiological testing; Plant Process Control: Production process control; and Plant Projects Process: Quality governance in projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the plant’s license to operate by maintaining all required certifications (FSSC 22000, FDA, HALAL, ISO 9001, and others).
- Guarantee a robust Quality & Food Safety Management System aligned with Danone One QMS and all regulatory frameworks.
- Build, deploy, and steer the Factory Quality Business Plan, contributing to the Factory Strategic Plan and Master Plan.
- Develop strong QFS capabilities in the team, ensuring the right expertise and skills are in place.
- Drive a strong and sustained Culture of Quality through iCare and consumer-centric behaviors.
- Improve QFS performance indicators and ensure right-first-time delivery.
- Implement solid governance, risk assessments, and change management practices.
- Manage the department’s budget and CAPEX, contributing to major site initiatives.
- Ensure customer-specific requirements are met, escalating deviations when necessary.
- Lead product-related crisis management in accordance with Danone’s global protocols.
- Oversee the Dan-IWS Quality Pillar, ensuring systems, documentation, and site capabilities are fully in place and understood.
About you
- MSc or BSc in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or related fields.
- 10+ years in Quality roles within food, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries.
- 6+ years of leadership/management experience delivering results within integrated management systems.
- Experience in manufacturing and processing environments.
- Strong background in high-risk or ready-to-eat product categories is preferred.
- Strong command of QFS systems (ISO, FS22000, HACCP, GMP, PRPs).
- Understanding of food legislation and food safety regulations.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Proficiency with digital and data tools (Power BI, LIMS, SAP, Veeva).
- Experience in auditing and project management.
- Strong leadership presence with the right balance between technical expertise and soft skills.
- Stakeholder management with senior internal and external partners (PLT, R&I, Marketing, Commercial, regulatory authorities).
- Excellent communication, influence, and decision‑making skills.
- Advanced English required.
