ABOUT THE JOB

 

Join Danone as a Junior Category and Channel Development Manager! We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Category team for the Danone Saputo joint venture. In this exciting permanent role, you will report to the Category and Channel Development Manager and will focus on embedding the Category & Channel strategy, championing retail partnerships, and leading internal diagnostics for the Category team.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Category & Channel Development: Generate key regular market insights across Danone, category, customers & competitors, using all data sources, to produce & validate the category opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Build strong retailer partnerships, drive data-led initiatives, champion range reviews, and support internal sales with strategic presentations.
  • Business Planning & Monitoring: Partner with sales, marketing, and R&I teams to provide insights, plan and build retailer and NPD pipelines, and develop NPD business plans.
  • Category Reporting: Help deliver monthly reporting, for Australia and global, while owning internal Administration.

About you

You are an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional with a keen interest in category and channel development. With a foundational understanding of market analysis and consumer insights, you are eager to apply your skills to drive growth. Your strong communication and organisational abilities enable you to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams. You are adaptable, quick to learn, and ready to contribute to a dynamic environment.

 

Ideally, you will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a Category or Commercial customer-facing role.
  • Experience with corporate grocery customers (e.g., Coles, Woolworths, or similar) preferred.
  • Commercial acumen for promotion and CPI modeling.
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing or Business (preferred).
  • Proficiency in scan and shopper data: syndicated, panel, retailer loyalty platforms (e.g., Quantium, Circana).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
