As the Civil Engineering Manager (Danone Global Engineering), you will play a pivotal role in supporting local engineering for very large projects. This position can be based in Amsterdam or Rueil-Malmaison.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy / Strategic Vision

• Contribute to and deploy the Company strategy for infrastructure, be the reference for civil engineering matters, driving the strategy and vision in this area.

• Ensure projects excellence in design and excellence in execution while boosting cash competitiveness and lead times by collaborating with the key stakeholders (engineering teams, procurement teams and suppliers).
• Identify and develop strategic partners at global and/or regional level (Architects, EPCM, contractors, etc.).
• Create highly performing civil & construction engineering standards for Danone factories considering insurances, sustainability, FMCG industry requirements as well as countries specificities.

Building Projects

• Expertise assistance to large international building projects with a focus on solid business cases (Build scope of work, preliminary capex budgets, project documents such as call for tender, specifications, etc.).

• Support engineering design and execution when there is a civil engineering and capital expenditure (capex) response needed (very large building projects only).
• Conduct ad hoc studies: due diligence, audits, developments, and share good practices.
• Ensure standards are known, understood, and applied across projects.

Managerial Complexity

• Manage international and cross-disciplinary projects.
• Oversee 200+ sites, including construction sites and operational infrastructure.

KEY DELIVERABLES

• Provide sound strategic civil engineering responses.
• Ensure local customer satisfaction.
• Maintain compliance with standards in large projects and business deliverables: on time and meeting requirements.
• Ensure standards are known and understood by the engineering community through training and communication.
• Achieve excellence in synchronization with the global engineering team.

• Active contribution and participation to the different engineering communities, build the network of civil/constructions engineers fostering the sharing of best practices, collecting the know-how and learnings.

• Education: Degree in civil or construction engineering.
• Mindset: Operation excellence-driven, critical thinker, and strategic challenger.
• Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding, naturally multicultural. Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams covering various organizational levels.
• Knowledge: Good understanding of the international construction network (expert in civil engineering processes) and the market.
• Experience: Strong generalist engineering execution background with focus on project management in international company, with the ability to apply them to different business contexts and scenarios.
• Skills: Effective in directing, teaching, coaching, mentoring, facilitating, and leading or executing when needed.

• Languages: English mandatory and French highly recommended.
