About the job

We are currently looking to hire a Sourcing Manager - Logistics Procurement.  The successful candidate will join the North American Cycles & Procurement Indirect team and will report to the Director - Logistics Procurement.  The Sourcing Manager - Logistics Procurement will be primarily tasked with leading and supporting the US Truckload Category from a procurement perspective:  The position will be based in Broomfield, CO or White Plains, NY and the successful candidate can expect to travel ~15%.

Responsibilities:

Transportation Rates and Routing Guides – Working alongside Logistics Procurement, Operations, & Systems 50%:

• Own, maintain and further improve database of current and historical rate and routing guide allocations within TMS.

o Develop data pools and consolidate trends and movement at scale.

• Individually and collaboratively with uber freight - research, troubleshoot, and fix rate and routing guide discrepancies and errors.

• Benchmark, and evaluate transportation rates for competitiveness, cpu quoting, bids, and EXW/DDP evaluations

 

Working alongside Logistics Procurement team members 15%:

• Provide support in bid optimization and historical data around bid volumes alongside the transportation operations team.

• Focus to better improve reporting, showcasing trends, and making recommended actions

• Work to align sourcing strategy with routing guide programming and execution to develop and drive savings through tender waterfall Logistics

 

Procurement Category Management 35%

• Assist and potentially lead smaller to mid-size logistics categories, including pallets, LTL, dedicated freight, shuttles with and run logistics bidding and sourcing events

• Continually identify and deliver on cost savings, sustainability, and working capital goals and initiatives • Partner with the business and finance to develop financial forecasts, cost trends/inflation, call out risks and opportunities as appropriate

• Assist with other logistics procurement activities and initiatives, as required

 

The base compensation range for this position is $75,000-113,000 commensurate with experience. About you

Education and Experience:

  • You will have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Economics.
  • You will have 2-5 years of experience in a purchasing and/or logistics experience.
  • You will have 2-5 years of experience working with large data sets and/or transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Experience working in transportation optimization software (Jaggaer, etc.) a plus. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • You will have strong data analysis skills & financial acumen.
  • You will be an improver – thinking how can I do things better and putting those actions into motion. 
  • You will work collaboratively on cross functional projects & have strong communication skills.
