About the job

As an Operations Manager, you will lead the BRICK plant, ensuring the strategic and operational management of the manufacturing activities. Your role is crucial in delivering high-quality products to global markets in a reliable, safe, and cost-efficient manner. You will work closely with the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) to build and deploy a strategic improvement plan that supports the business's ambition to stay ahead of the competition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Implement, deploy, and communicate the corporate strategy throughout the plant. Provide bottom-up feedback to Site Management and Division, ensuring the correct application of company guidelines and procedures.
  • Operational Management: Guarantee the daily operational management of the plant. Determine the plant's KPIs and objectives based on the company's strategy, and realize the required volumes in a qualitative, result-driven, and safe manner.
  • People Management: Lead a cross-functional team, coach, develop, and engage all team members. Stimulate and challenge the team to continuously improve and guide them towards delivering results.
  • Project Management: Take full ownership of in-plant projects with internal and external partners to achieve plant objectives and create value through continuous innovation.
  • Budget Management: Bear end responsibility for the total plant budget, manage the breakdown and allocation to functional area budgets, and follow-up to ensure optimal spending in line with strategic decisions.
  • External Collaboration: Ensure proactive and qualitative interfacing with external services and local authorities to build and maintain constructive cooperation.
  • Reporting: Report on the plant’s KPIs to Site & Division and formulate management recommendations based on the reported results.

About you

To be successful in this role, we believe you need:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience, with 7-10 years of experience in production and plant management.
  • Strong people management experience with excellent communication skills. You remain calm in times of crisis and provide necessary guidance to your teams.
  • A growth mindset and a passion for continuous improvement, with a proven track record in this area.
  • The ability to deliver results through others via empowerment and holding people accountable in a firm and fair manner.
  • A results-oriented approach, with the ability to motivate the team to work towards objectives.
