We have an opening for a Processing Supervisor, Night Shift based in Minster, OHThe primary responsibilities of a Processing Supervisor are to effectively lead and supervise the employees on your crew and ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly production KPIs are met for SQCDMN (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, and Nature).

 

Other responsibilities require the ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs , stamina and endurance (e.g., walking, standing for long hours), and the availability to work 12-hour shifts. The Processing Supervisor reports to the Processing Cell Owner.

 

12 hour rotating shifts: 5:43 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. and be able to cover additional shifts as business requires.

 

Specific Job Duties & Tasks:

  • Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment in order to deliver 100% customer service, enforcing contract policies as needed.
  • Verify or prepares records such as percentages of solids, milk losses, chemical utilization, etc., reporting weekly results with variances to Processing Cell Owner
  • Assure proper information and data resulting in an accurate daily milk loss report.
  • Assure proper CIP of equipment and plant turn around, while managing within quality, productivity, and customer service guidelines.
  • Verify proper milk inventories to meet Production needs.
  • Ensure product quality is within conformance standards.
  • Initiate or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals, supports Processing Technicians through their coaching and development.
  • Provide on shift backup support as needed for Packaging Supervisor, Warehouse and Distribution Departments.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and Processing of products packaging.
  • Manage milk and ingredient loss action plan for business unit. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in these areas.
  • Establish or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, while providing an updated weekly action list for the Business Area to the Processing Cell Owner.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Manage shift employees to ensure compliance to all SOP’s, QAR’s, Plant Rules and ISO Standards, including non-conformance management.
  • Be able to understand and review company CCP’s and OPRP requirements to make sure product is conforming.
  • Work closely with the Processing Technicians to ensure high reliability of equipment. Present weekly PM sheets with updates to the Processing Cell Owner.
  • Directly supervise employees in the Processing Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, coaching, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintain time and attendance processing records utilizing the Dayforce payroll system.
  • Administer discipline as required for job performance, attendance, or any other contract or policy violations.
  • Promote a positive team atmosphere and champion involvement of all employees.  Provide consistent and fair administration of company policies with the team.

About you

Education:

Associate’s degree in a relevant field (Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering, Food Science, etc.) or equivalent work experience or a minimum of 2 years of leadership in a manufacturing/processing environment.  Previous supervisory experience within a food environment is preferred. Technical experience in the HTST arena is a plus.

    • Internal traffic (e.g., various personnel operating powered equipment or handling the product)
    • Potential hazards (e.g., pedestrians, collisions, sharp objects, heavy machinery, confined spaces) (Steam, Hot Water, high pressures associated with Dairy Processing Equipment)
    • Loud noises, agricultural odors, wet floors, and condensation
    • Cold environment (fluctuates across seasons)
    • Tight spaces
