ABOUT THE JOB:

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Production Director based in our yogurt manufacturing plant in West Jordan, Utah. 

 

In this role, you will:

  • Recommend and implement the short- and medium-term production strategy in order to deliver to the market the agreed products and optimize the resources required (labor, materials, flows, …) within a good social climate.
  • Monitor the SQCDMN (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation, Nature) performance level of the Production Unit and ensure that a continuous improvement process (DaMaWay) is effectively in place to improve permanently the QCDM targets. 
  • As a member of the leadership team, and reporting into the site’s Senior Plant Director, you will contribute to the general improvement of the site and ensure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, DaMaWay, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, CODES, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE).  
  • Participate and own the implementation and deployment of the DaMaWay system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

About you

ABOUT YOU:  (all are required, except where noted as preferred)

  • You have a minimum of 10 years production management experience and leading production teams in a high-speed manufacturing environment, required.  Prior experience in dairy/food/beverage manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. 
  • You have a bachelor's degree in an engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical or other related field, preferred.  Candidates without a completed bachelor's degree must have at least 15 years of applicable leadership experience within manufacturing environment. 
  • You have detailed knowledge of processing systems and packaging equipment.
  • You are flexible, adaptable, persistent and resilient, proactive and have ability to stay calm under stressful situations and establish and react to changing priorities.
  • You have experience with budget and cost management.
  • You have strong leadership skills, strong influential ability and have strong interpersonal and communication skills required to interact successfully with all levels of plant and organization, as well as to develop and coach teams.
  • You are analytical and have demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to make decisions with limited information and to handle uncertainty and change.
  • You have organization skills, ability to schedule activity, and are process-oriented; able to identify process improvements and implement change successfully.
  • You have experience of implementing continuous improvement processes (Lean, TPM, ...) particularly for improving reliability of equipment.   Prior experience with Integrated Workforce Systems (IWS) is a plus.  
  • You have knowledge of inventory and preventative maintenance systems.
  • You have exceptional verbal/written communication skills, are organized, keen awareness to detail, and have effective time management and prioritization skills, and a solid work ethic.
  • You have ability to support a 24/7 production environment as business needs dictate.  Work schedules could include day or night shift schedules, and occasional weekends as business needs dictate.
