ABOUT THE JOB

We have a fantastic vacancy for a strong Reliability Engineer to join our state-of-the-art production facility in Balclutha within a versatile Technical team. In this role, you will help implement and drive Progressive Maintenance and support Autonomous Maintenance Program Implementation in line with IWS expectations. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating equipment, developing standards, and preparing a Progressive Maintenance roadmap.

This is a permanent full-time position.

 

You will:

  • Provide the capability for optimum equipment and process conditions efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Maximize equipment availability, extend equipment technical life, eliminate breakdowns, and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Establish an equipment log system and evaluate equipment systems to select priority equipment for planned maintenance focus.
  • Develop standards that define breakdowns, minor stops, and process failures.
  • Prepare a 3 to 5-year Progressive Maintenance pillar plan.
  • Maintain base conditions, identify developing failures early, and create and maintain a continuous improvement database.
  • Implement the Balclutha PM program by following the six steps of Progressive Maintenance Pillar implementation.

About you

Ideally, you will have:

  • A New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Advanced (Level 5) or a Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in an industrial environment with a proven record of improving plant reliability and performance.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as a team player.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with dairy equipment are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance.
