Danone is seeking a commercially driven and strategic Senior Category & Channel Development Manager - Pharmacy to lead the development and execution of category and channel strategies within our Specialised Nutrition business.

 

In this permanent role, reporting to the Head of Category & Channel Development, you will be accountable for shaping category leadership in the pharmacy channel, strengthening retailer partnerships, and driving profitable growth across the portfolio. You will act as the commercial heartbeat of the cross‑functional team, translating insights into clear strategies and execution priorities.

 

What you’ll be doing

Category & Channel Strategy

  • Lead the Specialised Nutrition category strategy for the pharmacy channel, defining where to play and how to win
  • Identify sub‑channel opportunities and prioritise growth initiatives through insight‑led decision‑making
  • Champion the pharmacy channel strategy internally and externally

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with key pharmacy customers including Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, and TerryWhite Chemmart
  • Lead range reviews, category recommendations, and joint business initiatives
  • Act as the key commercial interface between Sales, Marketing, RGM, Finance, and R&I

Profitable Revenue Growth

  • Drive revenue and margin growth through ranging, pricing, promotion, and CPI planning, in partnership with the RGM team
  • Develop channel‑specific plans aligned to portfolio and brand strategies

Business Planning & Execution

  • Partner cross‑functionally to shape annual strategic and commercial plans
  • Provide category and channel input into innovation and renovation projects
  • Track performance, monitor execution, and course‑correct as required

About you

You are a strategic, commercially minded category leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment. You combine strong analytical capability with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and are confident influencing at senior levels.

 

Ideally, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in category management or customer‑facing commercial roles
  • Experience working with corporate grocery or pharmacy customers
  • Strong commercial acumen across pricing, promotions, and portfolio strategy
  • Proven ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and lead through collaboration
