Legal Risk Management
• Analyse on complex legal risks & opportunities on various Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei laws including but not limited to company law, competition law, anti-corruption law, personal data law, food law, intellectual property law, property/land law, environment law and build legal strategies to ensure continuous business growth.
• Conduct legal watch, identify weak signals and ensure comprehensive and on-going knowledge of emerging trends and subjects that have potential to impact to the BU.
• Implement and apply Danone guidelines policies with the objective to reduce legal risk and protect the assets of the BU.
• Identify potential areas of legal vulnerability and risk and develop/implement corrective action plans.
• Management of legal process systems (e.g. intellectual property, contracts management policy, confidentiality, dawn raid, personal data privacy processes, e-CVM).
• Manage the bi-yearly corporate and litigation reporting to headquarters, company secretarial matters, understanding and advising on local corporate law requirement and advocating strong internal governance.
• Ensure collaborative objectives are achieved with various internal stakeholders in relation to internal audit, internal control, risk management, process improvement and efficiency.
• As a permanent member of the crisis management team in BU, he/she is accountable to participate and manage legal issues within the crisis management team. Corporate Compliance & Legal Dispute
• Lead the management of legal disputes, crisis, conflicts with consumers, government/enforcement authorities, competitors and/or other stakeholders. This includes liaising and managing external legal firms engaged on legal disputes.
Legal Contracts
• Manage, draft and negotiate all complex business contracts including sales and distribution contracts, services agreement, and/or any other commercial contracts as required by the BU.
Legal & Compliance Advise
• Provide strategic legal vision and advise to enable achievement of strategic business objectives.
Danone Corporate Legal Policies
• Lead the implementation and becoming subject matter expert on various business conduct Legal policies (Code of Conduct, anti-competition, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, data privacy, confidentiality, conflict of interest, dawn raid protocol, confidentiality policy, international trade sanctions etc excluding HCS/BMS/Integrity compliance policies).
• Deploy and conduct training at local level Danone Corporate Legal policies, to develop and strategize communication of Legal program and processes across the BUs.
• Lead in the annual drive to implement an effective legal program within BUs.
• Anticipate and evaluate emerging legal trends, anticipation of legal developments and continuously improving and strengthening the legal culture within BUs.
Danone Ethics Line
• Responsible to consistently communicate and socialize Danone Ethics Line (whistleblowing channel) to various stakeholders (internally and externally).
Audit & Compliance to Corporate Legal Policies
• Accountable as the Business Process Owner on designated internal control topics and contribute to internal Legal audits and/or conduct quarterly monitoring on Danone Corporate Legal to identify areas of vulnerability, opportunities and risks.

• Advocate & Solicitor / Legal Practitioner (or equivalent) admitted to the Malaysian Bar.
• Minimum PQE 8-10 years in a reputable Malaysian legal firm or as an in-house counsel in FMCG industry.
• Business acumen, ability to multitask and experience in handling complex projects.
• Maintain high level of expertise & empowerment in legal & compliance team.
• Proven ability in multi-tasking, prioritizing workload, high attention to detail, meticulous, follow-through and accuracy.
• Understanding the technical knowledge in FMCG business and requirement.
• Collaborative mindset and attitudes. 
• Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skill.
• Ability to prioritize and lead action plan with pragmatism.
• Experience and knowledgeable on various complex areas in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei laws.
• Policy review, improvement and drafting skills, ability to develop complex legal/policy templates for the BU or implementation at regional level.
• Contract management - drafting, reviewing, negotiation of highly complex and contested agreement.
