This role is part of the Advanced Technology department, a global science-driven organization at the forefront of sustainability, health and nutrition innovation, driving value creation and growth opportunities for Danone. To further strengthen our ambition, we are looking for a senior leader who can drive Packaging Materials and Danone Impact Journey (DIJ) agenda, connecting global scientific excellence with local market impact.

Core Objectives

• Define and implement the global Packaging Material strategy aligned with Danone priorities and Advanced Techno strategy
• Bridge scientific excellence, sustainability commitments, and business impact by developing future-ready materials, accelerating innovation platforms, and ensuring delivery of Danone's packaging sustainability ambitions and anticipation of future regulation, including Design for Recycling (D4R), recycled content, carbon reduction, plastic reduction, and circularity targets
• Lead and develop a global team of materials and sustainability experts that acts as a key strategic partners to Categories, Zones, Operations, Procurement, Sustainability, and General Secretary teams to transform packaging into a source of competitive advantage and long-term value creation.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop Global Capabilities and Expertise

• Build a team with world-class expertise in:
• • Recycling
  • Fiber-based packaging
  • Polymers and additives
  • Packaging circularity
  • Sustainability
• Foster knowledge sharing across the Packaging community.
• Develop talent, succession plans, and future packaging leaders

 Deliver Danone ambitions

• Own the global Packaging Materials roadmap across all Categories and Zones.
• Coordinate and Enable delivery of Danone Impact Journey Packaging pillar.
• Build the next generation packaging materials portfolio supporting growth, superiority and competitiveness.

Stakeholder Leadership

• Influence senior leaders across internally across relevant functions, through managed and established networks. Ensures the coordination at global level of key Danone policies and programs delivery.
• Manage complex matrix interactions and strategic decision-making
• Build strategic partnerships with suppliers, universities, startups, industry associations, and technology providers.
• Support advocacy and regulatory engagement activities.
• Represent Danone externally in key packaging and sustainability forum
• Strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into action.
• Ability to handle technical topics while adapting communication to audience

PROFILE

Skills and experience

• Deep Knowledge of the Packaging Industry & materials
• Deep Knowledge of Packaging Sustainability stakes
• Capacity to interpret scientific research to serve FMCG products and packaging for food contact application.
• Track record of engaging with external stakeholders to support business objectives within the packaging and material industry as well as the food Industry

Education & Experience

• Education: Master/Engineer/PhD in Material science, Chemistry, Process engineering or equivalent.
• +15 y experience with Proven ability to engage senior business stakeholders, advocate for R&I, and influence strategic discussions.
• Proven experience leading and developing international teams in a complex matrix environment
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate across matrixed environments, collaborate with global teams and leverage external networks.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and lead enterprise-wide transformation agendas.
• Experienced in working within a comparable complex manufacturing led business
