Tax Manager

YOUR responsibilities as a Tax Manager will include (but not limited to):

• Manage end-to-end tax compliance process, including preparation of tax computation and submission of required tax declarations with the tax authorities for Danone Hungary
• Manage tax audits, acting as a single point of contact with the tax authorities in Hungary
• Ensure tax reporting is compliant with tax laws and regulations
• Determine the VAT rate applicable for new products sold on the Hungarian market
• Monitor legislative tax changes, analyze the impact on the entity
• Engage with other teams and local businesses to ensure tax processes are compliant with local tax rules and the accuracy of information used for tax reporting
• Provide tax advice to internal stakeholders on domestic tax issues arising
• Manage and develop good relationships with tax authorities, maintaining a reliable taxpayer status
• Identify, manage, and mitigate tax risks and exposures
• Identify and deliver tax opportunities and manage tax reporting campaigns
• Ensure intercompany transactions are compliant with group policies, applicable local tax regulations and laws, and lead the preparation of local transfer pricing documentation
• Establish effective procedures and deliver process improvements
• Support critical regional or global projects to ensure timely and accurate completion
• Liaise with statutory financial auditors for discussion of tax questions during the statutory audit

We are looking for a Tax Manager with the following profile:

• At least 5+ years of experience in the field of accounting and tax reporting
• Passion for improvement, self-motivated, and employs self-initiative, goal-oriented, and proactive
• Strong business and commercial acumen
• Proficiency in local taxation
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to manage workload, prioritize
• Experience managing projects and change
• Analytical abilities, detail-oriented, problem-solving capabilities
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Tax / Economics / Finance / Accounting or equivalent
• Tax advisor qualification would be a plus
• SAP system knowledge would be a plus
• Fluent in Hungarian and English (spoken and written)

Please note: While this position carries the title 'Tax Manager', it is not a people management role and does not include direct reports. It is a senior individual contributor position.
