ABOUT THE ROLE

Danone Saputo Dairy Australia (DSDA) is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Commercial Finance Manager to join our Finance team based in Melbourne.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this leadership role is responsible for driving commercial performance through robust financial planning, forecasting, business partnering, and decision support. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Category, Operations, and Supply Chain to provide actionable insights, challenge assumptions, and help deliver sustainable business growth.

You will also lead the commercial finance team, elevate business partnering capability, and drive reporting transformation through automation and data enablement initiatives that improve business performance and decision making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Performance Management & Value Delivery

• Lead performance management across revenue, margin, investment, and cost drivers, delivering actionable insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to improve business outcomes.
• Partner with business leaders to drive accountability and delivery of commercial and financial targets.

Strategic Planning, Forecasting & Decision Support

• Lead commercial finance input into strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring plans are aligned to business objectives and supported by robust financial analysis.
• Develop planning models, challenge assumptions, and provide decision support for key commercial initiatives and investments.

Commercial Business Partnering

• Act as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions on pricing, promotions, portfolio mix, and growth opportunities while maintaining profitability and ROI discipline.
• Develop business cases and financial models to support innovation and strategic initiatives.

Reporting Transformation & Data Enablement

• Lead the simplification, automation, and enhancement of commercial finance reporting through dashboards, analytics, and data visualisation tools.
• Deliver clear, forward-looking insights that improve reporting quality, business visibility, and decision making.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial finance team, building capability in financial analysis, business partnering, and stakeholder management.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial excellence.

Governance & Process Excellence

• Ensure compliance with financial controls, governance requirements, and reporting standards while maintaining the integrity of financial data and planning assumptions.
• Drive process improvements, standardisation, automation, and audit readiness across commercial finance activities.

ABOUT YOU

You are a commercially focused finance leader who combines strong analytical capability with exceptional stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable influencing senior leaders, challenging the status quo, and translating complex financial data into meaningful business insights that drive results.

Ideally, you will have:

• CA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent finance qualification with 6–10 years of experience in FMCG, consumer goods, retail, or manufacturing.
• Proven experience in commercial finance leadership, business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
• Experience in financial modelling, business case development, reporting transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, and ERP system experience, preferably SAP.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
