Role Purpose:

The Business Solutions Manager acts as the accountable Solution Owner for the end-to-end design, delivery, and operational performance of technology solutions.

 

Working closely with Senior Business Solutions Managers, Finance, HR, Shared Services and Legal leadership, and cross-functional IT/Digital teams, the role ensures an optimal IT landscape (systems, processes, and support) that drives efficiency, automation, and innovation aligned with functional strategies and operational KPIs.

 

The role combines business partnering, delivery accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, effectively delivered, and sustainably operated.

 

Key Activities:

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Business Partnering:

  • Partner with Supporting Functions (Finance, HR, Shared Services and Legal) stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solution designs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to support the functional digital agenda and value creation objectives.
  • Work alongside Senior Business Solutions Managers to co-build IT strategy and roadmaps with local, regional, and central teams.
  • Engage with local leadership teams and its direct reports to identify digital solution to empower end users, improve process execution, mitigate risks and prioritise improvements.
  • Ensure strong collaboration across IT, Digital, and external vendors to deliver solutions effectively.
  • Ensure excellent service levels to minimise disruption to operations.

 

Solution Delivery Lifecycle:

  • Ensure adherence to the IT solution delivery lifecycle, including:
    • Planning and roadmap execution
    • Budget and timeline tracking
    • Value articulation
    • Agreement with vendor design, and supervise build activities ensuring FUT, and SIT are executed
    • Support throughout UAT execution including test scenarios
    • Risk, assumption, issue and dependency management
    • Lessons learned documentation
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (IT, Digital, vendors) to deliver projects, changes, and enhancements.
  • Ensure delivery of the solution portfolio in line with agreed scope, timelines, and financial commitments.

 

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously assess functional and technical fit of solutions against evolving business needs.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation, simplification, and standardisation across systems and processes.
  • Support the definition and execution of the function digitalisation strategy.
  • Collaborate with Digital teams to drive innovation through pilots, proof of concepts, and incremental improvements.
  • Promote automation and data-driven decision making across the processes.

 

Governance, Risk & Financial Management:

  • Monitor solution performance, including:
    • System stability and availability
    • Incident trends and recurring issues
  • Ensure vendor performance against SLAs and contracts; manage escalations as needed.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation of systems, data flows, and controls.
  • Support audit, compliance, and governance processes.
  • Participate in functional and IT governance forums, influencing decisions and shaping priorities.
  • Contribute to financial management activities including budgeting, cost control, and business case validation (ROI/value tracking).

 

Scope & Autonomy:

  • Accountable for solution quality, stability, and value delivery.
  • Operates with autonomy within defined solution scope, governance frameworks, and architecture standards.
  • Makes decisions on solution design, prioritisation, and improvements within their remit.
  • Identifies and escalates cross-functional dependencies, conflicts, and structural risks.

A propos de vous

We would like you to demonstrate the following key skills:

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong data analysis interpretation, SQL, Excel advanced, PowerBI.
  • Database fundamentals, APIs & Integration, ERP ecosystems (SAP, SuccessFactors) and Cloud basics.
  • Wireframing tools understanding such as Visio/Figma
  • Process modelling (BPMN, flowcharts), documentation of user journeys, user stories
  • Understanding of Agile / Scrum/ Waterfall / hybrid models software development lifecycle
  • Testing concepts (UAT, SIT, defect lifecycle)

 

Business & Leadership Skills:

  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management, with ability to influence and challenge constructively
  • Ability to articulate value, build business cases, and link technology to outcomes
  • Solid financial acumen (budgeting, ROI, cost management)
  • Experience managing vendors and service delivery

 

Delivery & Ways of Working:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end solution lifecycle (design → delivery → run)
  • Strong coordination and delivery management across cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thinking combined with analytical problem-solving
  • Agile mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and simplification
  • Ability to lead through others and drive impact beyond direct authority

 

Salary Bracket: £48,000-£60,000 + bonus & benefits
