About the Role :
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cash, the Manager, Government Funding & Incentives plays a key role in identifying, coordinating, and optimizing government funding opportunities for Danone Canada. Working cross-functionally with teams across the organization, this individual supports grant, tax credit, and incentive applications while ensuring compliance with program requirements. The role also contributes to building internal capabilities and implementing processes that maximize the value of external funding opportunities for the business.
• Manage and coordinate the preparation, development and submission of government funding applications in collaboration with business stakeholders and under the lead of subject matter experts.
• Coordinate contributors and project stakeholders to support complete, accurate and competitive submissions.
• Maintain centralized records of applications, approvals, supporting documentation and program correspondence.
• Track application milestones, decisions, conditions and required follow-up actions.
• Act as the primary internal coordinator for government funding audits, reviews and compliance assessments.
• Maintain complete audit trails and support documentation to substantiate claims and funding utilization.
• Coordinate audit responses with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Tax and other stakeholders.
• Develop reporting and dashboards to track the funding pipeline, applications, approvals, claims, cash received and projected opportunities.
• Partner with Corporate Tax and Controllership on the treatment and optimization of government funding and incentives.
• Provide timely information to support tax filings, accounting entries and financial reporting requirements.
• Ensure funding assumptions are appropriately reflected in financial plans, investment evaluations and management reporting.
• Work closely with Corporate Affairs and Government Relations to support funding-related initiatives and government program engagement activities.
• Support information gathering and reporting related to government funding announcements and program developments.
• The role does not own government relations strategy, public policy development, advocacy activities or external government stakeholder relationship management.
• Build and institutionalize internal expertise in government funding and incentives.
• Develop repeatable tools, templates, playbooks and knowledge-management processes.
Compensation, Benefits & Hiring Transparency :
The annual base salary range for this position is $72 000 to $110 000 CAD. The final salary offered will be determined by factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity and external market conditions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy or a related field.
• CPA designation is an asset
• Additional education or certification in tax, grants management, government relations, public policy or economic development is considered an asset.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in government funding, grants, incentives, finance, tax, economic development, consulting or a related field.
• Experience supporting, coordinating or managing government funding programs, grants, incentives or tax credit initiatives is an asset.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, funding claims and reporting.
