Join Danone Canada as our Canadian Tax Manager and make a meaningful impact in a visible, business-facing role at the intersection of tax, finance, operations, and global strategy.

 

Based in our Boucherville, Quebec office and reporting to the Head of Tax for North America, you will be the lead Canadian tax partner for a purpose-driven, global food and beverage company. This is an opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys both technical depth and practical business partnership. You will work across Canadian income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, audits, planning, and incentives, while collaborating with colleagues in Canada, the U.S., and global teams. The role offers a broad scope, strong visibility, and the chance to grow within a values-led organization known for iconic brands, sustainability leadership, and a people-centered culture.

 

Responsabilities 

 

Corporate income tax compliance

  • Lead quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, track tax attributes, and perform tax account reconciliations.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of income tax returns, including Pillar Two and cross-border reporting.
  • Manage monthly tax installment payments.
  • Coordinate with external service providers on income tax filings and related projects.

Indirect tax compliance

  • With the assistance of team, manage monthly GST/HST return preparation and reconciliation.

Tax planning and strategy

  • Manage federal and provincial tax credits and incentives.
  • Perform forecasting and scenario modeling related to taxable income, effective tax rate impacts, restructurings, and legislative changes.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on relevant Canadian tax rules and emerging trends.

Tax audits

  • Manage information gathering, document production, and responses to inquiries from tax authorities and other government agencies.
  • Develop defense files to help mitigate potential audit risks.

Transfer pricing

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of global transfer pricing policies and intercompany pricing frameworks to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation of global transfer pricing documentation, including the master file, local files, country-specific reports, and Country-by-Country, reporting (CbCR), while monitoring global developments such as OECD Pillar Two and other BEPS-related rules.
  • Draft, update, and maintain intercompany agreements.

Stakeholder management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business, accounting, legal, treasury, and other key stakeholders.

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $145,000.00 CAD. The final salary offered will be determined by factors such as relevant experience and qualifications, internal equity and external market conditions.

A propos de vous

  • You bring curiosity, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • You have 5 to 8 years of relevant experience and are ready to bring your technical tax expertise into a role with broad business exposure, ideally including experience with a national or international accounting firm and a multinational corporate tax department.
  • CPA designation or other professional certification is preferred but not required.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, with the ability to make complex Canadian tax concepts understandable and actionable for non-tax and international stakeholders.
  • You are energized by a role that combines independence, ownership, and connection—working from Boucherville while collaborating with remote colleagues across a broader North American and global structure.
  • You are organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing deadlines with changing priorities in a dynamic business environment.
  • You have strong Excel skills; SAP experience is a plus.
  • French & English are mandatory (spoken and written). Bilingualism is required for this position, as it involves frequent communication with our business units, plants, and business partners located outside Québec.
