About the job

The Director of Talent, Learning, and Culture will develop and implement strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring alignment with evolving technologies, systems, processes, and business needs. This role oversees employee learning and development, talent management, and initiatives to foster a positive organizational culture. The Director will also lead efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), integrating these principles into all talent management and learning programs. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of excellence.

 

Broadly, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage and mentor a team of HR professionals, ensuring they are equipped to handle the dynamic nature of the business.
  • Leverage data to evaluate the effectiveness of Talent, Learning, and Culture initiatives and evolve the strategy to meet technological and business demands.
  • Ensure DEI principles are integrated into all talent management and learning programs, promoting an inclusive culture that adapts to changing business environments.
  • Build strong relationships at the local, zone, and global levels with key stakeholders to ensure the Canadian business stays aligned with the latest frameworks and actively contributes to innovation beyond its own borders

And specifically in each of these centers of excellence:

Talent Acquisition and Management

  • Implement talent acquisition strategies to attract technical and leadership skills needed, ensuring alignment with technological advancements and business realities.
  • Conduct regular talent reviews and assessments to identify skill gaps and development needs, aligning with the latest industry trends and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with department heads and HRBPs to understand talent needs and provide tailored solutions that reflect the evolving business landscape.

Learning and Development

  • Guide the Talent & Learning Senior Manager in fostering a culture of continuous learning through innovative solutions that address evolving systems and processes.

Performance and Succession Planning

  • Lead succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity and organizational stability, considering the impact of technological and business changes.
  • Implement performance management systems for consistent and fair employee evaluations, incorporating feedback on adapting to new technologies and processes.

Culture

  • Lead DEI initiatives, enabling Employee Resource Groups, maintaining external partnerships, defining & activating areas for improvement.
  • Inspire and lead initiatives that nurture our strong culture of performance, people, and purpose — finding creative and meaningful ways to bring Danone’s values and behaviors to life every day.

About you

What You Bring to the Role:

  • A sharp business acumen — you understand how people strategies drive business outcomes.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field — your foundation for shaping people-first strategies.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience in global organizations, with a strong track record as a trusted HR Business Partner.
  • Demonstrated success in talent management, learning & development, and building thriving organizational cultures.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Fluency in both French and English an asset, enabling you to lead in a bilingual environment
