We have an exciting opportunity as an Process design Engineer - Projects at our Specialized Nutrition factory in Zoetermeer. Our team's mission is to ensure a safe and compliant working environment for over 500 Danoners, while supporting the production of specialized medical nutrition for vulnerable groups in over 55 countries. 

 

The process design engineer is a member of the engineering and transformation (E&T) organization, essential for driving compliance and growth through capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects. The process design engineer leads the process design engineering workstream in CAPEX projects, from preliminary definition to closing phase, covering the raw material handling and liquid processing areas. This workstream includes defining the technical requirements, evaluating vendors’ design proposals versus defined requirements and ensuring that acceptance criteria are met in qualification phases: Design Qualification (DQ), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Product Qualification (PQ). The process design engineer also integrates learnings into future practices. You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the process design engineering workstream in CAPEX projects from preliminary definition to closing phase.
  • Provide design and qualification relevant input on timeline and scope.
  • Provide input into other project documentations such as risk assessments and Technical Specification.
  • Deliver technical documentation assigned to this workstream such Food Safety Visa – Liquid Processing.
  • Ensure technical solutions chosen through scenario studies meet URS and process acceptance criteria.
  • Witness and evaluate if qualification (DQ-PQ) acceptance criteria are met in the field.
  • If acceptance criteria are not met drive the root cause analysis together with supplier to find define & implement solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert with suppliers on design topics, aligning with the project lead.
  • Share project learnings within the process design engineering team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Own and use SP ZTM simulation tool for projects’ mass balances.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards in all design processes.
  • Root Cause Analysis team member on Operations request

About you

You fit this role if you are/have:

  • Degree in engineering, preferably in process, chemical, food or a related field;
  • Proficiency in evaluating design proposals and ensuring compliance with acceptance criteria;
  • Proven experience in process design and qualification/commissioning within CAPEX projects; experience with aseptic processes is a plus;
  • Solid understanding of process automation and controls, change and risk management (FMEA, HAZOP, HACCP);
  • Strong documentation skills to ensure all technical reports are completed and signed promptly;
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Business fluency in English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
