Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and proactive HR Business Partner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee relations and collective agreement interpretation and application. This role involves partnering with plant leadership to support HR initiatives, ensuring compliance with the collective agreement, and fostering a positive work environment. The HRBP will report directly to the Senior HR Plant Manager and will focus on operational HR talent cycle, labor, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

Labor & Employee Relations:

  • Foster positive labor relations and ensure compliance with collective agreements.
  • Collaborate with union representatives to address labor issues and negotiate agreements.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on labor relations matters.
  • Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints and conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Promote open communication and trust between employees and management.
  • Provide guidance to managers on the application of the collective agreement.
  • Participate in negotiations and discussions related to the collective agreement.

 

Operational HR Support:

  • Implement HR policies and procedures to support daily operations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Support recruitment and HR talent cycle processes.

Engagement and Retention:

  • Support the design and implementation of employee engagement programs.
  • Conduct employee surveys and feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Contribute to retention strategies to enhance employee satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Lead the annual events calendar planning and deployment.

About you

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations and labor relations.
  • Strong knowledge of collective agreement interpretation and application.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with employees and managers.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken French and English.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
