At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Warehouse Leader based in our Bridgeton, New Jersey beverage manufacturing facility.

 

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Leader is responsible for leadership and operational performance of the warehouse operations and warehouse activities for the Bridgeton site from inbound ingredients to finished product as well as being a leader to all support teams inside the plant. The Warehouse Leader will be accountable for delivering the performance (SQCDMN) and maintaining a high level of standards – ie. GMP's, safety and food safety, SOP's and work instructions, direction, strategy through individual and team efforts. 

 

Work hours: Monday – Friday:  7:00AM – 5:00PM with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. This position leads both 8-hour and 12-hour workers who are on a 2-2-3-2 schedule, and therefore flexibility to lead during evenings, weekends, and holidays will be necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities:
As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

  • Effectively manage overtime to maintain a goal of under 20% monthly overtime for the warehouse department. Continue to identify opportunities on improvement and drive for consistency month over month.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and development of warehouse workers through active and servant leadership. Develop shipping and receiving teams, truck scheduling, dock scheduling, labor assignment, and customer and intercompany shipping activities on shift. motivate workers to achieve work goals and support the warehouse team through coaching and development
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in the warehouse and work with counterparts, supervisors, and operators to drive improvements: Optimize warehouse layout and flow; Improve Inventory Management; Streamline Picking and Packing; Leverage Technology and Implement Lean Practices.
  • Study production and shipping schedules and execute on gaps and risks while collaborating with other leaders to balance the work schedule. This includes effective management of overtime for the warehouse department.
  • Manage and control warehouse inventory for the facility, including finished product and raw materials and ingredients.
  • Perform End of Month activities to ensure compliance and transparency. This includes:  Inventory Management & Accuracy (inventory count, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and damaged/unsaleable inventory); Month End Review and Analysis (process final transactions by reconciling accounts, review monthly performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes);and Warehouse Operations & Maintenance (Clean workspaces, maintain equipment, update warehouse layout, train staff, gather feedback, document lessons learned).                     
  • Identify and manage Q reports and holds with Quality Assurance to ensure product is released in a timely manner and other QA issues are properly resolved.
  • Ensure all returns are properly brought into the system and coded.
  • Identify and manage warehouse space requirements and manage 3rd party inventory to ensure FIFO (First In First Out) compliance by consistent monitoring and use of tools and resources.
  • Develop root cause problem-solving analysis using tools to re-align warehouse goals and objectives.
  • Lead and support the continual improvement of all Company Standard programs related to Food Safety, Quality, Compliance, Employee, and other duties as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain KPI metrics and other reporting tools.
  • Promote a positive team atmosphere and champion involvement of all employees.
  • Ensure sound communication systems are in place so all employees are aware and can participate in continuous improvement of the warehouse; perform daily shift meetings and help facilitate Business Unit meetings as scheduled.
  • Enforce safety regulations (WISE2) to ensure a safe working environment.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business or related field, required.
  • At least 5 years' leadership experience in an operations/warehouse role within a manufacturing setting or CPG environment, required.
  • Experience with Inventory Management and Inventory Control is highly preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to train, develop and manage direct reports, required.
  • The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints and manage in a dynamic team environment, required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment, required. 
  • Ability to obtain a train-the-trainer forklift certification in order to certify hourly workers on the forklift.
