Where do you want to work?

Hello, I’m Rena!

After graduating from home economics in high school, I joined Danone as a new graduate in 2021 as a Quality & Food Safety lab operator.

On a daily basis, I am in charge of inspecting and shipping yogurt. Back when I was applying to work in the food industry, I visited Danone's Tatebayashi factory. I had a good impression of the QFS department and its employees. They all worked with accountability and responsiblity, as did the HR team at the factory.  I was very happy to be able to join the company.

Ensuring the Quality of Danone Products

Items that pass our inspection are shipped as products, so we are proud when we actually see our products at supermarkets and convenience stores. When a new product with a flavor that I like is released, I recommend it to my family and friends. Additionally, lab operators have to sample new flavours before it is commercialised. This special experience is one of the attractions of this job.

The Appeal of the QFS Team

The QFS team consists of members from various nationalities. Not only do I get to interact with colleagues from different countries, but I also have the opportunity to learn about inspection methods used at Danone overseas. This allows me to gain valuable experiences unique to a global company.

The materials provided are available in both English and Japanese, so I rarely feel a language barrier. Working in such an environment is incredibly stimulating and offers numerous opportunities for growth.

A Workplace Where Growth is Supported by the Team

When I started out, there were so many inspection methods that it was really hard to learn them all. On advice from a colleague, I started to write down the things I had learnt that day on a sheet after work, and gradually I began to learn the methods. Now I can handle all of the Danone inspection methods. I was able to overcome those difficult times, thanks to the continuous support of my team members. Now when somebody is having trouble, I will always try to help them.

I was also worried about working night shifts,  and I have come to appreciate and am happy with the days off during weekdays, and also generous overnight bonuses.

An Environment That Respects Opinions

There are a lot of people I respect working here, so I started out by role modeling them, and watching and learning from their behaviours. I started to set goals and tasks for myself on a daily basis starting with small things, and to think about what I should do to achieve them. This is an environment where people ask you for your opinion, so by first communicating my ideas, I was able to get accurate advice.

Thanks to these team members, I have been told that I was very quick to learn my job. Even now, I work by thinking about how best to complete my task quickly and efficiently.
