Our North America Corporate Affairs team is critical to the activation of our corporate mission and purpose both within and outside of Danone, through protecting and promoting our company reputation. We are currently looking to hire a Communications Associate Manager (AM) in White Plains, NY! This hybrid position will provide an excellent opportunity to touch many aspects of communications and build broad expertise in our field. This person will work closely with, and report to, the Director, Corporate Affairs.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail, innovative thinking, great teamwork, the ability to creatively problem-solve, and a positive, can-do attitude. The ideal candidate is results-oriented, excels in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys multi-tasking with minimal supervision.

 

In this role, you will support the Corporate Affairs team in two main areas:

 

  1. Protecting Corporate Reputation
  • Work alongside the Director, Corporate Affairs to manage stakeholders and develop statements and positions on relevant topics and issues, including drafting copy and managing reviews – connecting the dots to ensure messaging is shared with applicable stakeholders (e.g., Consumer Connections team for consumer inquiries or Corporate Communications team for including in briefing materials)
  • Own and manage repository of company positions
  • Own ad hoc projects or initiatives from intake to completion, including stakeholder and timeline management, drafting copy, managing reviews, and deploying communications.
  • Monitor the media mailbox and other external social channels; promptly respond to or escalate questions.
  • Identify reputational risks resulting from earned and social media and support in developing action plan to mitigate any issues. 
  • Support Corporate Communications Manager as a social media contact point during real-time events or crises.
  • Keep a pulse on the business by monitoring and developing daily news clips digest.[YK1] 
  • Conduct research, as required, and other duties, as assigned.

 

  1. Promoting Corporate Reputation
  • Working alongside Director, Corporate Affairs to draft and keep current stakeholder briefing documents, meeting leave-behinds and other communications materials for our public affairs outreach and engagement.
  • Working alongside Corporate Communications Manager, activate corporate social and digital strategy and day-to-day operations for the corporate website and brand’s social media channels including:
    • Develop and manage editorial calendar working with teams across the business, focusing on corporate storytelling and reputation building.
    • Partner with the Creative Director and Corporate Communications Manager to develop compelling stories, on both website and social media, from copy to creative design.
    • Coordinate with global digital team on social posting cadence
    • Oversee basic community management, specifically on LinkedIn and X.
    • Report on communication metrics and feedback to make recommendations to improve use of communications channels.
    • Handle maintenance of our Danone North America website and manage website updates to align with broader social / digital storytelling strategy.
  • Provide in-person support to Communications team in preparing for internal video shoots, e.g. liaising with video crew, equipping teleprompter, preparing space to film, etc.
  • Organize product and product mock-ups for company internal events and external stakeholder engagement moments, ensuring our company brands are appropriately represented.
 

The base compensation range for this position is $79,000-$114,000 commensurate with experience. Sobre ti

  • You will have a Bachelor’s degree required with preference for degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • You will have at least 3 years of experience in communications (either internship, in-house or agency setting)
  • You will have exposure to both current and emerging communications technologies and trends, including social media, Adobe Creative Suite and video editing
  • You will be organized and motivated; have superior attention to detail and time management, with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • You will have strong written and verbal communications skills; proficiency with digital; excellent editorial skills; understand how to develop and direct key messages to different audiences
  • You will be poised and professional with the ability/comfort to work collaboratively with colleagues of all levels and build cross-functional relationships; able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive and/or material information
  • You will be comfortable with technology, including, but not limited to: internal and external social media channels, Microsoft 365, file sharing and collaboration tools
  • You will exhibit demonstrated ability to be flexible/adaptable in a fast-past, highly dynamic business environment with competing priorities; comfortable with ambiguity
  • You have the flexibility to work hours that meet the demands of the position; ability to make quick decisions and work under strict deadlines and travel (~4 times a year, as needed) for Town Halls, company events, team meetings, and other key moments
  • You are passionate about food and nutrition with a strong desire to make a meaningful impact through both internal and external communications strategies
