Are you passionate about sustainability strategy, circular packaging solutions, and influencing decision‑making at senior level? Are you an experienced leader with a strong background in packaging sustainability and regulatory stewardship? We have an exciting opportunity as Senior Packaging Sustainability Manager within Danone’s Specialized Nutrition (SN) organization.

 

Our mission is to shape and accelerate Danone’s packaging sustainability agenda, balancing ambitious environmental goals with business performance. Key deliverables and priorities include:

  • Defining and steering the packaging sustainability strategy for SN.
  • Translating regulatory, market, and foresight insights into decision‑ready portfolio guidance.
  • Advancing critical sustainability transformation projects across the organization.
  • Strengthening Danone’s external credibility and partnerships in the sustainability ecosystem.
  • Embedding sustainability purpose into brands, products, and packaging innovation.

In your role as Senior Packaging Sustainability Manager, being part of the Specialized Nutrition Sustainability & Packaging community, your key responsibilities are to:

  • Shape and steer the SN packaging sustainability strategy, leveraging external best practices and industry benchmarks.
  • Initiate and lead cross‑functional sustainability projects with enterprise‑level impact.
  • Develop and advocate clear positions on non‑sustainable packaging materials, influencing portfolio and investment decisions.
  • Activate a compelling sustainability purpose across brands, packaging, and product design strategies.
  • Build and expand strong external networks with industry bodies, recyclers, and sustainability thought leaders.

Meet your future manager! You will report to Jesse REP, SN R&I Packaging Sustainability Director. 

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or Sustainability Management.
  • 7-10 years of experience in sustainability, with at least 5 years in packaging sustainability leadership roles.
  • Deep knowledge of sustainable packaging materials, processes, and recycling methods. 
  • Demonstrated experience strategically interpreting regulation and steering portfolio or investment decisions.
  • Hands‑on exposure to plastic and fibre packaging recycling ecosystems.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, highly regulated, international environment. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior leadership exposure.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to inspire and mobilize cross‑functional teams.
