Job Summary

Support production and warehouse management of the facility through raw materials verification, production schedule changes, losses, inventory accuracy, and cycle counting.

 

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a WMS Specialist based in West Jordan, Utah!

 

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

 

Inventory Accuracy:

  • Support Production and Flow management of the facility through raw materials verification, production schedule changes, losses, inventory information
  • Verify and maintain proper inventory accuracy to meet internal and external customer needs
  • Ensuring all required inventory counts are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensuring no downtime occurs as a result of inventory discrepancies and inaccuracy
  • Ensuring all reports/tasks are completed on time and accurately
  • Compare inventories & research discrepancies between WMS & SAP

 

 

SAP Key User – Production Orders:

  • Providing timely and accurate information on raw material losses
  • Understand material ordering process and the role/responsibility of our third-party warehouse
  • Validate pallets produced per production, consume materials into production order
  • Assist production/cooler in making any corrections to quantities for produced finished goods pallets
  • Various work investigations/problem solving, data collecting & work assignments for Production & Distribution Managers & Supervisors
  • Ensure physical counts of raw materials for inventory control take place and any necessary adjustments are completed in a timely manner

 

Other WMS Responsibilities:

  • Cross train in other WMS roles to enable vacation coverage for the department without any degradation to normal business needs (receiving, G&S, etc.)
  • Assist operators with all WMS issues; schedule changes to meet demands, current tasks, demands, relocations, etc.
  • Promote a positive team atmosphere and champion the involvement of everyone on the team
  • Manage the inventory and disposal of all obsolete materials
  • Assist the Materials Quality Coordinator in managing the R&P Hold area
  • Assist in the training of warehouse personnel when required

 

Physical Demands

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; taste and/or smell, talk and hear.
  • Ability to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head.
  • The employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10lbs up to 50lbs and occasional team lifting above 50lbs. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results.
  • The employee is frequently standing on a concrete surface for 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts
  • Occasionally may need to climb on stairs, step ladders, stool
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and may be exposed to loud noises in the plant.  The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

 

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in warehouse management systems within a manufacturing environment is preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must possess strong computer skills, with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Access database systems
  • Shift flexibility where weekends, nights, and holidays may be required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment
  • Ability to identify problems, draw conclusions, and make recommended solutions
