I really believe in the products we make; they can be of great value to our customers. It gives me energy to know I’m supporting people’s nutritional needs, and as I’m involved in the decisions that affect the nutritional formulation of the products, I know my work is having a real and direct impact. We invest in evidence generation to show the benefits of our products; we’re always looking to innovate and improve.
It’s so international here, there are many different nationalities in my team, and there’s lots of people I enjoy working with. I feel supported by my managers and colleagues, we’re on the same page.
I had opportunity to spend six months in another science team and with the support of my manager we made it happen. There’s great value in making connections here, learning how different teams operate and identifying new ways of working. I get great experience and energy from meeting new people and working with people I’ve not worked with before, and that’s encouraged here.
From day one I was made aware that there was a lot of opportunity here, but it’s important to go and talk to people, to let people know what you want. We can get a mentor to help us think about our development, and I’ve grown by looking after interns and taking on a first line-management role.
