As a Global Senior Buyer Packaging Specialtiesyou will have a wide scope encompassing different areas of the packaging category including fuelling the Packaging Team efficiency pipeline and driving tasks related to business continuity, innovation, productivity, sustainability and day to day category management support.  

 

You will be supporting the Global Specialty Packaging team to implement and execute of procurement strategies for the Specialized Nutrition Division of Danone. The key focus is on reporting into the Global C&P Manager - Specialty Packaging, co-building and executing the strategies as well as contributing to projects animation, DIJ, and driving business growth through innovation. You will manage a spend of approx. 50Mio EUR within a complex category.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Own and define the global strategy for a part of the Packaging Specialties across regions and divisions;
  • Own the strategic direction of the category translating insight into impact;
  • Drive sustainable productivity and cost optimization, continuously challenging the status quo;
  • Lead global tenders, negotiations, and contract management across all business units;
  • Identify, onboard, and develop strategic suppliers, while driving SRM for key partners;
  • Ensure strong alignment between global strategy and local market execution;
  • Lead risk mitigation and supply continuity strategies (e.g., dual sourcing, contingency planning);
  • Act as a strategic business partner, leading cross-functional projects and influencing senior stakeholders in a global matrix.

You will be part of the Cycles & Procurement team-based in Hoofddorp. You will be report to Deyvid Ivanov, Global C&P Manager - Specialty Packaging.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need to have a solid experience in Procurement management. Stakeholder engagement is one of your key strengths and you have demonstrated leadership capabilities, a ‘can-do’ attitude, are resilient, analytical thinker and result oriented, with a strong appetite to drive continuous improvement.

 

Experience & Technical Knowledge:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain / Procurement.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Category Management.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, negotiations, and cost optimization.
  • Nice to have: experience in plastic packaging Procurement, big bags and composites.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Influencing and stakeholder management at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, global projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a value-driven mindset.
  • High level of autonomy, agility, and resilience.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
  • Strong communication skills in a multicultural, matrix environment.
  • Fluent in English; second language is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (EU).

The salary range for this role is €90.000 – €100.000  gross annually (including 8% holiday allowance).  Your final offer will reflect your skills and experience while also ensuring alignment with our internal equity and salary framework.
