At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Supervisor Warehouse Operations based in Mt. Crawford, Virginia! The working shift will be from 4pm to 4am on a 2,2,3 rotating shift.     

 

Job Summary

The Supervisor Warehouse Operations directs the warehouse and logistics activities of the plant including warehousing, transportation and off sight storage locations.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

  • Manages the daily shipping and receiving activity of finished goods inventory.
  • Oversee local transportation functions, ensuring timely shipping and delivery to the customer.
  • Monitor orders/inventory to prevent product shortages and develop processes to eliminate potential shorts.
  • Prepare and maintain departmental budgets.
  • Analysis of warehouse practices to develop new procedures to reduce expenses, improve inventory accuracy, efficiency and service.
  • Manage, train and direct the activities of all warehouse / logistics personnel.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and support safety training/work practices for all associates.
  • Manage all warehouse activities of an outside storage location to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance with Company policy. In addition, negotiate rates and services that are competitive and appropriate to accomplish Company goals.
  • Administer the integrity of finished goods inventory at the plant and at outside storage locations.
  • Perform other statistical analysis, capital improvement projects and duties as developed and assigned.       
  • Ensures department compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains and verifies department employee timesheets for payroll processing.
  • Interacts with other facilities to increase our shipping efficiencies while reducing costs.
  • Own respective QMS standard and execute all processes, including all documentation specification requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
  • Work schedules could include nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide the ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate.

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

 

Education & Experience:

  • High School/GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Five (5) + years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) + years of supervisory experience required
  • Food and beverage experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:          

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations here only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 Manufacturing Operation, may include working overtime, graveyard shift and/or weekends as needed.
