About the job

Hoofddorp/Hybrid 

As the Global Logistics Procurement Excellence Manager in the Logistic Cell team, you will be guiding and supporting the Logistics Procurement teams globally to adopt top-tier sourcing practices, processes, and best in class contractual clauses throughout the end-to-end (E2E) procurement cycle.

You will Lead the ideation and execution of Global “Big Bet” projects.  You will collaborate closely with local, regional, and global teams in C&P, working alongside Operations counterparts to address mutual dependencies. Your objective is to drive Procurement Excellence amongst Log C&P buyers to deliver exceptional results that align with the company's goal of achieving a 9% logistics cost/net sales, maximizing value creation, minimizing risk, and ensuring adherence to company policies.

  • Lead governance of the E2E Contract Cycle to enable procurement excellence evidenced through all steps of the procurement process.
  • Provide the global procurement community with the tools and KPI’s to enable value creation and elimination of risk
  • Partner with Operational counterpart to effectively run the global meetings, benchmarking and Loss Analysis exercise to drive cost down
  • Partner with Finance to lead the quarterly Rolling Forecast processes with regions / CBU’s to drive cost visibility, benchmarking and sharing of ideas to drive value creation
  • Connect with external experts and cross industry peers to bring external capability and drive continuous improvement.
  • Share market intelligence / drivers, supplier knowledge, technology evolution, innovation opportunities with Regional and local Business Units
  • Advocate for innovation, sustainability and diversity while supporting buyers with their sourcing strategy / procurement approach
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Own the SRM process with key Suppliers, run Quarterly Business Reviews with key business partners.
  • Travel: Expect 10 – 15% travel
  • Timezones: This is a global role and entails working with markets in their time zones spanning from Japan in far east to the Americas.

About you

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES NEEDED

  • Required experience/background: More than 10-year experience in procurement with more than 4 years in logistics procurement in an FMCG environment or a logistics company working on regional / global level is an added advantage.
  • Deep understanding of procurement practices across Warehousing, Transportation and Pallet categories. Well versed with various contract models.
  • Industry and Types of Companies: FMCG, Global Logistics Providers.
  • Experience working in an international environment and fast-paced projects.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES  &  SKILLS

  • Strategic procurement at Regional / Global level
  • Collaborative in outlook and willing to work across time zones spanning from Asia to the Americas.
  • Able to successfully operate cross-functionally and very importantly across different cultures.
  • Excellent Presentation / Communication skills.
  • Legal knowledge in contracting and Procurement clauses.
  • Experience with Logistics contracts across Warehousing and Transportation.
