APAC Capex & PMO Manager

About the job

The APAC Strategic Projects Manager and SAPAC Capex PMO role is created to bridge strategic intent into execution: shaping and de-risking highly strategic but lower-maturity initiatives (clarifying scope, building the delivery model, aligning stakeholders, preparing governance, and quantifying value), and then transitioning them into country-led execution once the program is “execution-ready”. This prevents fragmentation across CBUs, accelerates decision-making, and secures benefit realization across the zone.

Key responsibilities (what success looks like)

1) Run the APAC Ops strategic and SAPAC Capex portfolio (Zone PMO)

  • Establish and operate the CAPEX/Investment side of the APAC portfolio governance cadence (monthly/quarterly rhythms) with clear inputs/outputs, escalation rules, and decision packs.
  • Maintain a single source of truth for the SAPAC Capex portfolios (scope, milestones, owners, dependencies, risks, benefits, decision log).
  • Drive portfolio hygiene: stop / continue / reframe recommendations; eliminate “pet projects” and unmanaged initiatives.

2) Enable execution of zone-led strategic projects

  • Lead PMO support for zone-led / cross-country transformation programs (high strategic value, multi-stakeholder, higher ambiguity).
  • Build project structures: charters, workplans, governance, RAID, stakeholder map, and comms cadence.
  • Ensure projects land with measurable 4C outcomes (value, service, cash, carbon) and auditable benefit tracking with Finance.

3) Consolidate and Animate with Finance the SAPAC CAR/CAPEX/CASHOUT plans:

  • Cashout Forecasts
  • Cashout adherence monthly with quarter commitment
  • CAR Radar and preparation
  • CFLOW single source of truth

4) Standardize project governance across Country Business Units

  • Define and deploy a light APAC standard for project management (templates, stage gates, reporting, investment discipline) that works across very different CBUs.
  • Coach/coordinate country project owners to improve on-time delivery, risk anticipation, and decision quality.

5) Create decision-grade narratives for the Ops Board / President

  • Produce concise, executive-ready materials: portfolio dashboards, deep-dive one-pagers, issue-to-decision notes, and steering packs.
  • Translate complex delivery realities into clear choices, trade-offs, and asks.

6) Build the project operating system (tools + data)

  • Own the PMO toolset (e.g., SharePoint / PowerBI / planner tooling): ensure portfolio reporting is simple, consistent, and automation-friendly.
  • Work with IT/Data as needed to improve data flows and reduce manual reporting load.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need…

The following technical skills and experience:

  • Strong PMO / portfolio management experience in multi-country / matrix environments (Ops/Supply/Manufacturing strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to run governance cadences, drive action closure, and manage cross-functional dependencies.
  • Solid understanding of value tracking (business cases, benefits realization, KPI design) in partnership with Finance.
  • Ability to build clear executive narratives and decision packs (PowerPoint excellence is non-negotiable).
  • Comfort with data-driven reporting and automation mindset (PowerBI / dashboarding familiarity is an advantage).

These soft skills:

  • High ownership with hands-on execution; thrives in ambiguity.
  • Strong stakeholder management: can influence without authority and handle conflicting priorities.
  • Structured thinking, pragmatic problem-solving, and sharp prioritization.
  • Confident communicator with senior leadership; concise, calm, and outcome-focused.
  • Comfortable with APAC travel when needed (limited but purposeful).
