About the job

As the brand manager, your primary role would be to grow the brand to new heights, leveraging all end-to-end strategic plans.
Managing the brand in Japan, you will propose and execute brand strategy and action plans to meet and beat agreed objectives (volume, share, profitability).
You will deliver new consumer benefits through innovation grounded in deep consumer understanding and well-designed concepts, and lead activations with pace and rigor

<Main responsibilities>
Obtain clear understanding of current sales/brand situation
- Analyze key data to understand and leverage consumer-insight-led trends, going beyond surface-level findings to uncover deep consumer motivations and unmet needs
- Ensure clear understanding of the drivers and inhibitors of the performance of the brands
- Pro-actively and continuously identify gaps and new opportunities to drive the portfolio & activation through a clear understanding of the consumer, competition and trade.

Build and lead through innovation
- Build existing range of products via maintenance and renovation of base products, refreshing and extending as appropriate with relevant new products and concepts
- Develop breakthrough launch plans for the brand innovation, creating compelling activation plans that will drive trial on these new products, and beyond (holistic brand level) especially in digital activations.
- Drive strong execution of the agreed support plan, leading cross-functional actions end-to-end; making timely decisions under ambiguity; ensuring execution is grounded in clear hypotheses and attention to detail; and recommending amendments to the plan as appropriate to drive stronger performance including in-store POS/activations.

About you

<Education background>
• Possess a bachelor degree or equivalent (Marketing, Business Management or Communications background preferred)

<Technical Skills and Experiences required>
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills with strong leadership across multiple functions with the ability to make decisions and move projects forward based on solid logic.
• Proven track record of new launch initiatives in a fast-moving environment with demonstrated ability to think strategically, and multi-tasked launch schedules, ie, at least 5 new initiatives (>10 SKUs / year).
• Proven track record of managing a brand holistically, with core SKU renovation and maintenance and seasonal /limited editions launches
• Native Level in written and spoken Japanese with strong Business Level written and spoken English
• 2–5 years of brand marketing experience for consumer-facing brands (mandatory), with FMCG industry experience preferred, and proven responsibility for brand P&L.
• Experience sports marketing and digital marketing (preferred)
