About the job

The Category Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of the dairy and plant-based categories by transforming consumer, shopper, and retailer insights into strategic development plans. The job holder plays a key role in analysing the retail environment to identify opportunities that enhance category performance and deliver mutual growth for both the company and its retail partners

 

Responsibilities of the role

  • Analyze market, shopper, and retailer data to uncover growth opportunities for the assigned categories
  • Design and implement category development strategies in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Key Accounts.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of retailer environments to optimize shelf presence, space allocation and assortment strategies.
  • Create and present together with the sales team compelling, insight-driven proposals to retailers to improve in-store performance (e.g., shelf optimization, planograms, space management).
  • Monitor category KPIs and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Develop tools and dashboards to support commercial decision-making and track performance.
  • Liaise with internal (demand planning, finance, global category teams) & external (market research agencies, retailer’s teams, etc) stakeholders
  • Inspire trust, passion & winning attitude throughout the organization.

About you

  •  Degree in Marketing, Economics, or a related field. A postgraduate degree is a plus.
  •  3+ years of experience in Shopper Marketing, Trade Marketing, or Category Management in the food industry or in retail.
  •  Experience working with commercial teams and retailers.
  • Strong data analysis skills (Nielsen, IRI, Retailer Data) and ability to extract strategic insights.
  • Excellent command of Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills across cross-functional teams.
