The R&I Advanced Technology Department’s mission is to deliver breakthrough technologies to create value for people and planet. At Advanced Technology, we collaborate with the Global R&I Technologies beyond AT (UX, M&S), R&I Zones and Categories, and other functions (Engineering, Operations, QFS,…). We aim to deliver a pipeline of disruptive innovations in ingredients, processing, and packaging,
leveraging strong assets and scientific expertise.

The Advanced Techno Process is based in 3 locations (Gif-sur-Yvette, Utrecht, Tres-Cantos)  and focus on 1/ Milk & Protein valorization (fractionation, functionalization into ingredients), 2/ Digital Transformation & Data modelling,3/ Water Sciences and Technlogy, 4/ SITEX Industrial pilot & pilot network transformation.

 

Priorities include:

 

  • Plant-based alternatives to Dairy
  • Milk and milk ingredients optimization
  • Packaging transformation
  • Innovative ingredients
  • Development and mastering of technologies and processes allowing a quick transfer to markets with excellence in execution and optimization of investments
  • Simplification of developments thanks to creation and combination of new high value technologies
  • Support zones and CBUs in short term when high expertise is required
  • Develop and leverage high standards in the different fields leveraging digital need based.

 

We are looking for a Concentration and Separation Technologist Junior to join our Concentration and Separation team and to work on Dairy, Plant-Based and Specialized Nutrition applications (new ingredients, new functionalities, new applications, new finished goods) using the concentration and separation technologies.

This position takes place at Gif-sur-Yvette (FR), in Danone Research and innovation Center, as of 1st of February 2026.

In this position, you will report to the Concentration and Separation R&I Director.

Your main responsibilities focus on:

 

- Responsability 1: Develop and optimize processes (membrane filtration for example) for the extraction, separation and concentration of compounds at different stages of the manufacturing process (e.g., upstream extraction of raw materials of plant origin or downstream concentration to obtain protein-rich finished dairy products).

  • Create, structure and implement projects.
  • Make trials at pilot plant scale, analyze results and optimize the process.

 

- Responsability 2: work in collaboration with other experts from R&I Advanced Technology

  •    Validate the produced products with product developers and if necessary, participate to consumer tests.

- Responsability 3: develop synergies with other R&I functions but also Engineering, Quality, Operations, Cycle and Procurement / Milk Valorisation Unit

  • Actively participate to the business cases building.
  • Deliver recommendations and guidelines for implementation in regions (GTS and trainings) in collaboration with Engineering and Quality.

- Responsability 4: Develop and centralise the technological expertise of the concentration and separation team and more globaly of Danone.

  • Deliver and improve trainings about Concentration and Separation applications.
  • Be an active member of the membrane filtration community.

About you

The criteria below remain indicative. A candidate who has a different combination of experience and skills could also be considered.

  • From a Master degree in Food Technology or Food Process Engineering background, you have over 3 years of successful experience in this field
  • You are available as of 1st of February.
  • Essential Criteria 1 – Strong communication, team work mindset, rigorous
  • Essential Criteria 2 – exp: Excel, SAP, PowerBI (Hardskills)
  • Essential Criterion 3– exp: English will be essential to communicate with the rest of the team!
