The Advanced Technology Team is one of the global Research and Innovation Teams of Danone. Its mission is to DELIVER BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGIES TO CREATE VALUE, BENEFITING PEOPLE AND PLANET!
Part of Advanced Technology, the Advanced Data & Modelling team, located in Utrecht (NL) and Paris Saclay (FR), is dedicated to implementing data-driven & in silico approaches for all Danone product categories. Key focus areas are understanding ingredient & process & packaging interactions, to accelerate disruptive innovation by developing a robust data-driven approach.
We are looking for a Research and Innovation Statistics and Data Manager who will report to the Data and Modelling Director.
Role & Responsibilities of the position
- Lead the Data governance within the department, in collaboration with other data experts (Data Sciences, Data Engineering and other stakeholders) Define & implement best practices of data management according to Danone standards to support the creation of databases, dataflows and implementation and deployment of dashboards and visualization tools.
- Carrying out end-to-end data analyses, from gathering business requirements and aiding teams to define the targets and KPIs, to analyzing data and interpreting and reporting results.
- Manage external agency resources and trainees
- Connect with external partners in the frame of research collaborations to ensure a strong data management approach
- Be the leading statistic expert for the department and provide advanced statistical expertise, guidance on experimental design and sampling (design of experiment) and result analysis. Ensure appropriate interpretation of statistical deliverables in collaboration with other functions. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Clearly explain statistical concepts to non-experts.

About you
The criteria below remain indicative. A candidate who has a different combination of experience and skills could also be considered.
Our candidate will have the following hard skills
- Microsoft data platform (Data solutions like Azure, AWS, Snowflake or equivalent…)
- Master Visualisation tools (PowerBi, or equivalent)
- Excellent command of Python, Matlab, R or equivalent
- Statistics software (
- Design of experiment experience, and knowledge of machine learning applied to DoE
Our candidate will also have the following profile:
- Engineering or Science degree in chemical/mechanical engineering, applied maths, physics or chemistry, ideally with a PhD
- 8-10 yrs industrial experience with a proven track record in data management and people management
- English as working language, French a bonus
- Strong communication skills : training, explaining complex concepts to non-specialists
- Good interpersonal skills, curious, problem-solving skills
