Data Analyst Intern - Sensory & Consumer Research

About the job

Are you curious about how data can shape better products and experiences for consumers? Join our Research & Innovation team as a Data Analyst Intern and help make sensory and consumer research data more accessible, reliable and impactful for business decisions.

In this internship, you will work at the intersection of data science, consumer insights and food innovation, supporting projects that improve how we manage, analyse and use research data across specialised nutrition.

As a Data Analyst Intern in Sensory & Consumer Research, you will be part of the Digital Team within the User Experience and Category Knowledge team for Specialised Nutrition. This team helps translate consumer and sensory research into meaningful insights that guide product innovation, decision-making and business priorities.

Your work will focus on improving the quality, structure and usability of research data. You will support data governance initiatives, help document key processes and explore how tools such as AI and machine learning could make consumer research data easier to access, analyse and apply.

This is a hands-on internship for someone who enjoys working with data, asking smart questions and turning complex information into practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support data management initiatives by helping improve data quality, documentation, governance and ways of working.
  • Help make sensory and consumer research data easier to access, structure and use for different stakeholders.
  • Explore opportunities to apply AI, machine learning or advanced analytics to relevant business challenges.
  • Work with tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL and Python to organise, analyse and visualise data.
  • Collaborate with research, digital and business stakeholders to turn data needs into clear, practical outputs.

About you

You will join a multidisciplinary Research & Innovation environment where data, science, consumer understanding and business needs come together. You will work with colleagues from digital, user experience, sensory research and specialised nutrition, in an international setting where collaboration and curiosity are key.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, manage their own priorities and build strong relationships across teams. You do not need to know everything from day one, but you should be eager to learn, comfortable working with data and motivated to improve how insights are created and shared.

Must-haves

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s programme in Data Analytics, Data Science, Food Science or a closely related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and at least one data analysis or visualisation tool, such as Power BI, SQL or Python.
  • A strong interest in data management, data quality and data integrity.
  • Good project and time management skills, with the ability to organise work clearly.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with different stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with consumer research, sensory science, food innovation or nutrition-related data.
  • Familiarity with data governance, process documentation or data quality improvement.
  • Interest in AI, machine learning or automation in a business or research context.
  • Experience translating data into dashboards, reports or clear recommendations.
