Environment Coordinator (Zoetermeer – fulltime)

This role is part of our Specialized Nutrition factory in Zoetermeer and reports directly to the HSE Manager. In this factory (with over 500 Danoners) we produce specialized liquid medical nutrition that contributes to the well-being of vulnerable target groups (infants, elderly and sick) in over 55 countries.

What are you going to do?
As an Environmental Coordinator, you are responsible for ensuring that factory operations comply with environmental regulations outlined in the environmental permit, Danone Corporate Guidelines, and the ISO-14001 and 50001 certified environmental management system, among other standards. Through inspections, internal audits, and compliance rounds conducted in both the office and the factory as part of a team, you identify necessary process improvements and oversee their implementation in the relevant departments. 

Additionally, you will enhance your core responsibilities in environmental management by implementing improvements related to health and safety.

You will be the main contact for Environmental governmental bodies and work closely with Supply Point Management team on specific topics.

The following matters are part of your duties:

• Maintaining ISO 14001 and 50001 certification as outlined in the HSE Management System, including periodic registrations and reports.
• Lead and support internal audits, pre-certification readiness reviews, and interface with external auditors.
• Implementing changes in laws and regulations within the Nutricia HSE management system to ensure compliance.
• Ensuring compliance with HSE-related permits and requirements by utilizing our compliance databases, such as MakeOnline, while supporting involved departments in maintaining compliance and implementing improvements.
• Overseeing and carrying out HSE internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance tasks. This includes training internal auditors, supervising audit teams, registering audit results, ensuring effective follow-up on deviations, performing trend analyses, and periodically reporting these findings to the organization.
• Maintaining communication with the relevant authority in collaboration with the HSE Manager and external specialists. This includes overseeing and implementing activities such as environmental inspections, preparing environmental reports, updating permits, and compiling the E-MJV report.
• Involvement in emergency management, accident investigation, and reporting.
• Collaborating with the local and central Nature teams to develop the Danone Nature roadmap aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and water usage at the Supply Point.
• Performing internal safety audits / observations
• Drawing up internal communication and awareness campaigns
• Support projects in terms of Environment part.
• Make a daily observation tours, monitor the availability of the necessary visualization, its relevance, quality and sufficiency. 

You`ll work together with your colleagues towards efficient safety management, you can support a team of nice HSE colleagues who can assist you with advice and experience.

For this challenging position, we are looking for someone who is able to provide structure and lead an improvement agenda: 

• You have a Bachelor's degree in environmental science/environmental management or similar relevant education with several years (+2) of relevant work experience in the field of environment or HSE;
• Good understanding and up-to-date knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, environmental management systems and best practices;
• You have experience in adapting/drafting process descriptions, procedures and forms;
• You have an affinity with safety, health and working to improve the HSE culture;
• Good stress resistance and being able to switch quickly between tasks is a starting point;
• You are motivated, driven, solution-oriented and a team player;
• You persevere until you have achieved the desired result and always strive for a “win-win” situation;
• You are a person type, who has a hands-on approach;
• You have smooth communication skills and can speak in front of a group;
• You are available for 40 hours per week;
• You speak and write in Dutch and English;
• You have knowledge of the MS Office package.
