Danone Nutricia NZ is seeking a committed Equipment Operator - Processing to join our dynamic production team at our spray drying facility in Balclutha. In this role,  you will support the processing of raw milk into infant formula, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products, for the first time right to our consumers day after day.

As a key member of the Production team, you’ll contribute to achieving business goals through precision, adherence to procedures, and effective teamwork. Your focus will be on operating and optimising equipment to deliver consistent, high-quality output that aligns with Danone’s stringent specifications.

This vacancy is a permanent full-time job, working in a rotating shift roster of 12-hour shifts, 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off. Minimum guaranteed hours per week 42.

You will play a key role in maintaining smooth and efficient production by applying structured problem-solving techniques to overcome operational challenges. This includes issuing and receiving permits to work, ensuring all maintenance and contractor activities are coordinated safely within the production area. Upholding the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness is essential, as you will be accountable for meeting powder production targets, guaranteeing products are manufactured to specification, and consistently promoting safe work practices across the factory.

To be successful you will have:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred).

• A strong commitment to Safety, Quality, Compliance, and Hygiene standards.

• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate documentation.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel) is advantageous.

• Understanding of food safety principles and HACCP (preferred but not essential).
