The mission of the EU Public Affairs Senior Manager is to: 

• Anticipate major EU public policy issues and advocate to support Danone’s business, by managing relations with external specific influential stakeholders at EU level.
• Manage Danone representations and influence strategy in European industry associations, using Danone’s internal network of spokesperson if need be.
• Sherpa of head of the Region (regional EVP) in the EU trade associations while developing high level corporate engagement programs when relevant (CEO, GS, COMEX)

The main responsibilities of the role are:

1. Representation of Danone Company in front of EU political institutions and NGOS

• EU institutions: European Parliament, European Commission, Member States representatives
• NGOS: BEUC, EHN etc.

2. Animation of PA EU network

• Cascading of business priorities, company positions & policies,
• Foster cross-cbu & cross functional collaboration

3. Stakeholders engagement

• Represent Company in relevant transversal trade associations (FDE, AIM, The Pledge, etc.)
• Define and implement the advocacy strategy to influence stakeholders agenda
• Identify and develop relations with key EU stakeholders to strengthen Danone’s network of key influencers
• Build stakeholders mapping and engagement strategy: build and deliver the appropriate message to each target, and define the right level of engagement (dialogue, influence, partnership)
• Identify the relevant Danone spokesperson & prepare messages for the meetings with stakeholders

To be successful in the role of European Union Public Affairs Senior Manager we expect you to have a strong background in Public Affairs with experience in global or regional  experience global or regional policy advocacy roles, NGOs or EU Institutions.  In addition, you should be able to: 

• Communicate with impact, engage stakeholders, assess & manage business risks and opportunities and ensure license to operate
• Proven advocacy campaign experience
• Ability to develop networks internally and externally
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Strong interest and sensitivity to political and economic matters
• Thorough, well organized, results and outcomes oriented
• Agility and ability to manage complexity
• Collaborative mindset & attitudes
