Are you ready for your next challenge? We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Export & Shipping Manager as part of our dynamic logistics team based in Auckland. This is a 12-month maternity leave cover opportunity.  As an Export Manager, you will oversee the order-to-cash process for exports out of New Zealand, ensuring timely, complete, cost-effective, and specification-compliant deliveries.

Reporting to the Head of Logistics ANZ, you will manage demand forecasts, analyze them, and navigate through the S&OP process to align with production. You will be responsible for successful logistics management for each order, ensuring we meet commitments. Maintaining regular customer communications, including site visits, and managing within SLAs are a few key responsibilities of this role.

You will:

• Implement a customer-focused export and service delivery strategy.
• Identify, measure, and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs) using the PDCA cycle.
• Cascade strategy and KPIs to the team to ensure alignment and ownership.
• Lead projects and manage the entire order process, including production, QA clearance, logistics, customs, shipping, and documentation.
• Liaise with production, QA, NZFSA, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transporters, and shipping lines to ensure correct documentation and smooth operations.
• Manage customer claims, credit processes, and air freight processes.
• Continuously benchmark against competitors and seek opportunities to improve SLAs and implement best practices.
• Establish and maintain relationships with export customers and 3rd Party providers to ensure effective coordination of exports and position the export area as a strategic contributor to Danone’s success.
• Participate in global procurement and buying processes for freight tenders and hold providers accountable through SLAs and contractual obligations.

You are a seasoned Export professional with an unwavering passion for logistics and supply chain. Your prior experience in primary industries, coupled with your exceptional stakeholder engagement and influential skills, sets you apart. You thrive in collaborative settings, bringing a proactive and efficient communication style to the table. Your ability to take ownership and act with speed, agility, and pragmatism is essential to your success in this role.

To be successful, you will also have:

• Tertiary qualification in Science/Engineering/Business/Supply Chain or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in customer relationship management, S&OP, or warehousing and distribution.
• Experience in managing and leading teams is preferred.
• Familiarity with FMCG and dairy industry regulations is desirable.
• Expertise in exporting from NZ and importing into Greater China and SEA.
• Knowledge of MPI/HC, Customs & Chamber of Commerce requirements.
• Understanding of SAMR – China regulatory requirements and FTA.
• Experience with air and sea freight documentation
