The Global Media Procurement Senior Manager leads the global procurement strategy for Danone's performance media investments, with accountability for maximising return on A&P spend across an increasingly converged marketing ecosystem.

As AI reshapes media planning, search, and content activation, and as the lines between media, commerce, data, and technology continue to dissolve, this position requires a leader who combines deep commercial expertise with genuine fluency in emerging technology — including AI-driven media tools, automated optimisation platforms, and the evolving search landscape.

 

You will drive impact through the following areas:

 

Category Leadership

  • Own global sourcing strategies for search/SEO, CRM-related activation, and marketing platforms, including emerging AI-native and generative search environments.
  • Develop and maintain a rigorous view of the supplier landscape — agencies, publishers, platforms, data partners, and AI tooling providers — to ensure Danone partners with best-in-class capabilities.
  • Manage complex, multi-tier supplier ecosystems including media agencies, specialist performance partners, and technology vendors.
  • Lead complex RFP and RFI processes end-to-end, from brief through selection, aligned to Danone's strategic and commercial priorities.

AI & technology fluency

  • Continuously monitor how AI is reshaping the media and advertising ecosystem — including generative search, AI-powered bidding, synthetic creative, and automated media planning — and translate this into procurement-relevant intelligence.
  • Identify and evaluate AI-enabled tools and platforms that drive measurable improvements in media effectiveness, efficiency, or measurement quality.
  • Partner with IT and data teams to assess build vs. buy decisions on martech and AI capability, ensuring procurement is embedded in vendor selection from day one.

Performance Management

  • Act as a central orchestration point, ensuring strong governance across sub-teams
  • Support the Category Sourcing Director in managing the overall roadmap, priorities, and delivery of the extended team.
  • Ensure key initiatives are properly tracked, delivered on time, and aligned with the overall strategy.
  • Coordinate internal champions and project leads across the team to ensure consistent progress and execution.
  • Prepare and maintain key materials for leadership discussions (program updates, QBR decks, roadmap tracking, performance dashboards).

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Build strong partnerships with global and local procurement and marketing stakeholders to understand evolving needs and ensure procurement strategies support business growth.
  • Work closely with IT, data, legal and digital teams to ensure alignment between media sourcing strategies and broader digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support internal education and capability building around emerging areas such as AI-enabled media optimization, and performance marketing models.
  • Represent Danone externally with strategic suppliers and industry bodies, building relationships that support long-term value creation.

Agency & Partner Management

  • Manage strategic relationships with global agencies and technology partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement in agency performance, ensuring clear scope definitions, effective governance, and value delivery.
  • Ensure supplier relationships drive innovation, transparency, and measurable business impact.

Compliance & Value Creation

  • Ensure all sourcing activities comply with Danone’s policies, business principles, and governance frameworks.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve ROI and effectiveness of media investments through better commercial models, technology adoption, and supplier performance management.

About you

This role requires a professional who can combine solid media expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate emerging technologies such as AI-driven marketing tools and automation platforms.

 

The successful candidate will own category leadership across performance media, with particular focus on search (including AI-influenced search models such as generative and conversational search), platforms and martech.

 

Key requirements: 

  • 15+ years of experience in media procurement, marketing procurement, or media industry roles (e.g., media agency, media auditing, digital marketing).
  • Strong expertise in digital media ecosystems, including search, performance marketing, retail media, and advertising technology.
  • Experience working with commerce media ecosystems.
  • Exposure to martech platforms, CRM ecosystems, and marketing automation tools.
  • Solid understanding of media planning, buying, and performance marketing models.
  • Experience managing complex supplier ecosystems including agencies, publishers, and marketing technology vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience running global or regional sourcing initiatives and RFPs within a complex matrix organization.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and operationally, combining vision with strong execution discipline.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior marketing and digital leaders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into commercial insights.
  • Excellent negotiation and commercial management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to bring structure, governance, and clarity in complex environments.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with retail media networks.
  • Familiar with content production and influencers.
  • Understanding of AI applications in marketing and media optimization.
  • Experience collaborating with data, IT, or digital transformation teams.
  • French would be an asset.
