To lead and drive the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Danone South Africa’s Safety Culture. This role ensures the protection of people, assets, and reputation by embedding world-class safety standards, systems, and behaviors throughout all operations, including manufacturing, logistics, commercial, and office environments. The Head of Safety acts as a key business partner to senior leadership, enabling safe growth and operational excellence aligned with Danone’s One Planet. One Health vision.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of experience in safety leadership roles, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing, or multinational environments.

Proven track record in managing safety across multiple sites or business units

Skill:

Leadership (lead the team effectively, provide clear direction and motivate team members)

Problem Solving (able to identify problems quickly and find effective solutions)

Communication: assertive communication to interact with other teams and departments.

Specific Knowledge:

Strong understanding of SA safety regulations, global standards (e.g., ISO 45001), and risk management frameworks.

Knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analysis, and safety performance metrics.
