In this internship, you will be a valuable asset of the Global Procurement Packaging team, and will support buyers with day-to-day business, within the category of Plastic Packaging. We offer you a great opportunity to look into one of the essential resources of Danone, to collaborate in a multicultural environment and to be a key part of the implementation of sourcing strategies. You will be fully involved and have real responsibilities within business processes, supplier performance’s evaluation in the manufacturing facilities, tracking implementation of corporate contracts, and generating and supporting productivity and optimization projects.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

Support Global/Local SRM Implementation:

  • Assist in the implementation of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with Danone's standards and expectations.

Supplier Capability Assessment and Scouting:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and technologies.
  • Assess and map the capabilities of both new and current suppliers.

Benchmarking and Analysis:

  • Support the maintenance of databases including specifications, quantities, and spend data.
  • Work on benchmarking projects to compare supplier performance and competitiveness.
  •  Conduct complexity and competitiveness analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive cup catalogue and opportunities overview.

Process Improvement:

  • Assist in improving tender templates to streamline procurement processes.
  • Support the enhancement of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Mold Capacity Management Tool.

In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to further develop your project management skills by engaging in various projects that meet the current needs of the team, and you will be encouraged to share your own ideas and bring them to life.

 

About you

As a Global Category Buyer Intern, staying organized and detail-oriented will be second nature to you. You can confidently manage and update key data files such as the Business Contingency Plan (BCP), Plastic Scorecard, performance tools, and outage status reports. On top of that? You’re an analytical thinker who enjoys working with structured information and continuously looks for ways to improve processes and add value.

 

You are also:

  • Highly motivated and proactive;
  • A strong communicator and like being in touch with multiple stakeholders, internally and externally;
  • A self-starter, curious and are not afraid to share your opinion or ask questions when needed;
  • Proficient knowledge in Excel that can be used for efficient data analysis;
  • Comfortable using AI and Power BI;
  • Analytical and capable of turning data into actionable insights;
  • Eager to learn and thrive in a dynamic, fast- paced environment that continuously challenges you.

 

Key requirements:

  • Enrolled as a Bachelors/Masters student in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Industrial Engineering or another related field during the whole internship period;
  • You are a resident of the Netherlands and hold a valid BSN number (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to have a valid Dutch residency permit);
  • Ideally available to start in January 2026 for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days per week;
  • You are fluent in English - spoken and written;
  • You are able to work from our Hoofddorp office, at least 3 days per week.
